Weights for Saturday: Sergio Martinez 157.5, Paul Williams 156

Middleweight champion Sergio Martinez and challenger Paul Williams both met the 158-pound catchweight limit for tomorrow's rematch in Atlantic City, with Martinez coming in at 157.5 pounds and Williams at 156. There has been some chatter that Martinez looked drained, which may well have been the goal of the Williams camp getting him down a couple of extra pounds.

Martinez (45-2-2, 24 KO) and Williams (39-1, 27 KO) will have the rematch of their 2009 Fight of the Year candidate televised tomorrow on HBO, along with a replay of Manny Pacquiao's destructive victory over Antonio Margarito last weekend. Bad Left Hook will have live, round-by-round coverage of Martinez-Williams II, and immediate post-fight analysis.

he didnt look all that gaunt or drained to me, but the quality of the vid wasnt great so not a lot of clear detail. but what was plainly noticeable to me is that sergios body language and overall vibe he was emitting wasnt good. seemed real somber, he wasnt very amped or keyed up. dunno if it is the weight, but something did seem off with him imo

Martinez

has let himself down before the fight has even happened going by the reports of how his weight was so high at then check weigh ins.
He was still well over the ideal weight one week before the fight.
This has been my main concern going into this fight and i’m a bit suprised at the his complacency/lazyness,whatever you want to call it.

That vid is funny… there’s a lady that keeps yelling: “put your pants back on Sergio, it’s cold in here!” in Spanish.

Maybe Martinez did look a bit drawn in the face looking at it again.
He blinked in the staredown too,Williams didn’t.
