R1 Ward/Bika
Bika 10-9. Rough and tumble round, but that’s exactly the fight Bika wants (and probably the only one he can win). He’s mauling Ward on the inside.
I gave Ward that round, close though.

ugly
Ward complaining about Bika. Might be getting frustrated early

Do you think Bika can win on the cards, with the type of fight he needs to win ugly, chippy, on the inside)?
If so, he better be in great condition for the late rounds
He is using a lot of energy right now

I don’t think so if it’s close like it is so far. Two of the judges are from California.

Ward-Bika Round 2

Ward seems to be more controlled from the outside now. Bika gets him inside and tries to bully him. He’s winging lots of huge punches, but not landing a whole lot. Ward counters a wild swing with a nice stiff jab. Both guys holding and hitting, but Bika is definitely out-dirty-ing Ward so far. Ward trying to keep Bika off of him with the jab, but it’s not doing much. So far, Bika is 100% forcing Ward to fight his fight.

I'm a fan of this kind of dirty inside fighting.

I have it 2-1 for Ward

Ward-Bika Rd 3

Ward comes out and starts to brawl with Bika, landing a couple of nice clean shots. Bika grabs onto him and lands a number of body shots while holding. Ward catches Bika with a short left as Bika backs away. Ward very tentative now, and isn’t really hitting with the jab. Bika throwing punches but not landing. Ward not throwing punches, but more accurate when he does. Bika with some really nice work inside at the end of the round. Both guys are wrestling and hitting. Each lands a good uppercut on the other. I barely favor Bika on workrate in that round, but in Oaktown, the judges almost certainly gave it to Ward.

Ward-Bika Round 4

Andre Ward is standing his ground on the outside well for the first time this fight. Cut is ruled as an accidental butt. Bika goes flying, and it was ruled a slip. Ward lands a left hook that makes Bika stagger a bit. Now Ward is bullying Biks on the inside. Left hooks by Ward and Bika land simultaneously. This is a hell of a fight. The two guys are just brawling away on the inside. Solid comeback round for Ward, but Bika had completely gotten his legs back by the end of it, and was back to winging wild shots.

Ward-Bika Round 5

Heads of the fighters clash to start the round. Ward finding his range with the jab better now and seems to be getting more comfortable in there. Both guys land big left hooks. Gus only mentions that Ward landed. Ward with a nice check hook that Bika steps into. Ward gets nailed with a big left by Bika right back. This one has been a war for the last couple rounds. Ward with a left hook that hits Bika. Ward with a nice combination. Bika is throwing the jab, but Ward is moving around the ring much better now and is confusing Bika a bit when he’s not way inside. Ward has most of the momentum now. The two tee off for the last few seconds, and then at the end of the round, they smile and nod at one another.

I'm just going to lay this out there.
If you want to win, do not engage in an inside fight with Andre Ward. This guy knows how to adjust.

Ward-Bika Rd 6

The two start out wrestling for the first 30 seconds, and Bika wins the exchange. According to the stats, Bika has thrown nearly twice as many punches as Ward, but Ward has actually landed more punches overall. Bika leaning up on Ward inside and landing some nice body shots and a nice short uppercut. Ward is just leaning on Bika and not doing much in return. Ward now cut over his other eye as well. Bika pushes down Ward and the ref properly calls it a push. Bika wings a wild right that Ward blocks. Not a lot of clean punches landed by either fighter that round, but Bika seemed to win the inside war of attrition.

Tough fight to score
I’ve got Ward ahead pretty handily now but I can see a Bika card so far.

Ward-Bika Round 7

This round starts out with more wrestling on the inside. The pace has slowed down considerably in the last couple rounds. Bika staying busier again, but really not landing much. Ward comes over the top with a right hand that grazes Bika. Bika with a couple of wild misses. Bika lands a couple of right hands while Ward complains that he was hit on the back of the head. Ward gets Bika on the ropes and is able to win an exchange inside. Close round for Ward, but pretty much every round could go either way.

Ward-Bika Round 8

Bika is leaning up against Ward. More inside game, although Ward seems to be consistently finding the right hook to the body now. Bika is still winging some wild shots, but Ward is putting up the earmuffs and blocking most of them. Nice right hook by Bika seems to catch Ward. Bika lands about four straight shots on the inside. Ward comes back with a few digging body shots. Despite a very physical fight, both guys seem to still have plenty of energy. Another very close round.

Ward-Bika Round 9

Both guys on the outside. Bika tries to step in, but Ward pushes him away with an elbow to the throat. Back to fighting inside, and the referee warns Bika for hitting off the break. Ward hits Bika with a big right and seems to have Bika a bit hurt. A left uppercut, followed by an elbow, snaps Bika’s head back. Ward throws a number of good body shots, and in between, motions to the crowd to make more noise. Ward seems to be taking over in the dirtiest round yet.
Ward 10-9

Ward-Bika Round 10

Ward is boxing on the outside more. Even when he’s not throwing out there, he looks so much more natural than Bika on the outside. Ward with a right hook that backs Bika into a corner. Ward nails Bika with another butt. Bika misses a couple of jabs, Ward jumps out of hte way, parries, and nails Bika with a strong jab of his own. The two are back on the inside, but now it’s Ward throwing the bigger punches. Bika now with a cut from that headbutt. Ward catches Bika with a jab coming inside. Ward is having his best rounds late, and Bika’s workrate has dropped a fair amount.
Ward 10-9

Ward-Bika Round 11

More dirty brawling on the inside. Bika with a strong right hand that cracks Ward, and nobody seems to notice. Ward is getting more aggressive himself, and Bika mostly isn’t able to take advantage. Ward has been able to counter Bika’s wild misses with jabs, but he seems to not want to throw power punches from the outside. A better round for Bika than the previous two, but still clearly a Ward round. Bika’s corner tells him he needs the knockout.

Ward-Bika Round 12

Bika outside but not letting his hands go in the 12th. Ward catches him with a straight right on the inside. Bika misses wildly and Ward turns him around. Ward hitting Bika with the 1-2. Ward counters Bika as he’s throwing some big hooks. Bika has been throwing a lot of big punches over the top, but Ward is slipping most of them. Ward counters and butts him, the referee gives both guys a warning. Wika with a few right hooks. They’re back inside, and Bika is hitting him on the inside. Bika with a big left hook in the last 10 seconds, but Ward stays standing
