Zab Judah, Everyone Else on Weight for Boxing After Dark
Bill Emes was on hand in Newark for BoxingScene.com, and reports that everyone made weight for Saturday's HBO Boxing After Dark event.
In the junior welterweight main event, Zab Judah came in at 139 pounds and Lucas Matthysse was on the division limit at 140.
In the televised lightweight co-feature, both competitors were under the limit. Robert Guerrero came in two pounds light at 133, with Vicente Escobedo a pound over that at 134.
Our quick previews of both fights, and others from this weekend, are just one post below this one (or here's a direct link). Unless someone else takes the card on Saturday night, we will not have live coverage of the Boxing After Dark double-header, as we'll be focused on the superior Showtime event. The Showtime card starts at 10pm EDT, with the HBO card starting at 11:15, so there is a chance we'll be able to get the Judah-Matthysse fight covered.
In fact, now that I think about it, it's highly likely that we'll get the Judah-Matthysse fight covered, so expect that.
Also, we only have two straight posts of Robert Guerrero photos because Guerrero is the only one currently in the Getty cycle we have available to us. No offense to Robert Guerrero.

So both Showtime and HBO are having fights? Interesting.

It used to happen a lot more often. This year it hasn’t happened much.

Same thing will happen on Nov. 27 and Dec. 11.

Cool, DVR’s FTW! This Sat will be watching Showtime though, then HBO.

Don't worry about the multiple pitcures of Guerrero
At least you have access to the full Getty archives. For me, if there isn’t Mayweather, Pacquiao or a Klitschko (or someone who fought on one of their undercards), then I have to resort to fight posters or other promotional photos I find around the web.
It could be worse. You could need to post multiple photos of Cris Arreola.

Was the showtime originally set for 9pm?

The title has
“Lopez vs. Marquez SAT NOV 6 9PM ET/PT – Showtime Sports”
I checked their schedule earlier in the week and it said 10 pm
I guess that might have changed

It’s 10pm. The only place it says 9pm is on the browser title of that page. The graphic even says 10pm.

Fightnews also has 9pm

I checked my cable guide just to make sure. It’s 10pm.

1 pound under weight?
That’s surprising from Zab. Hopefully it just means he has no problem making 140 and can rehydrate, as opposed to De la Hoya’s 145 and rehydration to 147 against Pacquiao.
I think he’ll be fine. He didn’t make a mass drop back down to get to 140, he inched his way there over a few fights.

Oscar weighed 144 on fight night....
