I'm in the UK
and heard something about your clocks in the US going back tonight (could be wrong) .. am I right in thinking the show starts in 2hr 45min-ish from now?
The clocks go back at 2 am our time
So it won’t affect the time difference for tonight’s fights. I don’t think Scott’s time actually goes back, but I could be wrong about that.

Well, they only lost by 79, since they did manage to score (86-7). But yeah, the U’s football team is just awful.

Johnson-Green R1

Whoa, Green throwing punches right away, shooting his jab. Johnson going to the body. Right hand up top from Johnson as Green continues to pump the jab. Johnson goes back to that wild right and misses. Both guys are active to start, and that’s good to see for both of them. There’s the right again from Johnson. BIG RIGHT BY JOHNSON! That thing is there for him. Johnson really coming at Allan Green, going to the body and then firing that big old right hand up top. Another right hand. Johnson has landed that same right hand four times or so already. Green just isn’t seeing it coming.

Johnson-Green R2

Johnson looks just as quick as Green, really. Johnson going to the body. Johnson is also able to back him down fairly well, but Green is looking for openings, all the while mostly just throwing his jab. He might want to open up with his right hand or left hook and try to get Johnson to respect his power. Johnson back to the body, and this round is definitely his pace. Right hand by Glen clips him. Johnson blocks Green’s left hook. Johnson dominating this round. Nothing eye-popping, but he’s just all over Green, who can’t get comfortable. Green, and I hate to jump the gun, already looks discouraged a little bit.

Johnson-Green R3

Green mostly backpedaling and not even throwing in the first minute of this round, but there’s a combination. Still, none of it lands clean. Johnson backs Green to the ropes, where Green ties him up. Green is doing a lot of tying up. There’s a heavy uppercut from Green! Winnable round for either in the last minute. Johnson pops Green a bit, but Green just keeps moving. Apparently Allan Green feels he’s the much better-conditioned man, because he’s constantly on the move, which might be his attempt to wear Johnson down. Green gets Johnson, but Johnson hurts Green on the ropes! BIG SHOTS BY JOHNSON!

Boxing writer: "Iran, what are you going to do when you retire?"

Green-Johnson R4

Well, let’s see if Green is OK.
Tarver just busted out a “turrible.”
Green is not on good legs yet. He’s hanging on to Johnson and trying to kill some time. Green being warned for holding now. And then he immediately hugs Johnson again. Johnson gets him with a right to the head. Green still just clutching and grabbing, now he gets free and moves. Johnson is all over Green, and Green wants nothing to do with him in close. More holding. Green throwing now when he’s got some distance, then when they’re close it’s all holding.
Here’s the rhythm: Green throws, nothing really lands, he’s close, he holds. Green being warned again.

Green-Johnson R5

Green throwing again, but then Johnson backs him down almost immediately. Green is brave at a distance in this fight and absolutely wants nothing whatsoever to do with Glen Johnson once they get even sort of close. And he’s not landing in those flashy-looking combinations. His jab looks alright, but he hasn’t unleashed with power much. Johnson with a right. Good body shot by Green. Bernstein says that Johnson isn’t getting inside enough — he gets there, then he gets tied up. Green bleeding fromt he nose. Johnson nails him again near the bell.

Good shots by Green early in the round. Johnson walks through them, but those landed square. Body shots by Johnson. Green wandering with his left hand low, Johnson following him. I think they’re both feeling the needle on the gas tank juuuust a bit. I love Al Bernstein, but I have no idea what he’s watching.
Johnson stings Green again. Almost all of the good work is coming from Glen Johnson. He’s frustrating, discouraging and BIG RIGHT HAND BY GLEN JOHNSON! Allan Green just is not good enough, to my eye. Johnson-Green R7

There’s a guy at ringside who leaves his mouth open all the time like Cory Haim in License to Drive. And press row has it close like the Showtime guys. I just am not seeing it. I am guessing this is a fight that looks different live (for the guys on press row and likely the judges) than it does on TV. Or maybe I’m just stupid. I don’t know.
Johnson and Green both landing good shots in the first minute of this round. Green actually doing some work in close now, and even out-fighting Johnson in tight. Good left hook by Johnson, but then Green goes down to the body. “Tough round to score,” says Al. This is in fact the first round I thought Green won.

Lopez-Marquez R6

Right hand Marquez, right hook Lopez. Lopez doing some good close work now. Lopez is starting to step on the gas a bit. Left hand Lopez! And another! Marquez a bit rattled, but he’s Rafael Marquez. Lopez starting to take over with the left hand this round. Marquez is wide open quite a bit. Right hook Lopez. Lopez having a terrific round, using his size and strength to take full advantage. Best round of the fight for him.
Lopez 10-9
Marquez 58-55

Marquez seems to be fading a bit to me.

10-9 Lopez, 58-55 Marquez
Best round of the fight for Lopez. Clearly dominated, landed at will, didn’t catch much return fire.

Who the hell knows
They seem to be favoring ineffective aggression. I can see Lopez up one, but not three

The whole of press row have Lopez at LEAST one round ahead?

Lopez.

Lopez-Marquez R7

Press row all have Lopez up 58-55. Marquez looks like he’s wearing down to me. Lopez landing, fighting smart now, and starting to really take over. Those are thudding blows he’s landing in close to Marquez. Marquez is throwing back. HOLDING AND HITTING! And Weeks doesn’t call THAT? He called all the other shit, but not THAT?
Lopez really taking over. Marquez is hurting. He’s getting hurt. Big right hook! BIG EFT HOOK BY MARQEUZ! WOW! Jesus, he WON’T DIE! Lopez still coming forward! Lopez with rights to the body. Uppercut Lopez! These guys are warring like all fucking hell now! Good God. This is nasty!
LOPEZ UNLOADING! MARQUEZ THROWING BACK! Lopez now really laying it in! ANOTHER LEFT HOOK BY MARQUEZ! BUT LOPEZ WON’T STOP! Lopez and Marquez are FIGHTING LIKE HELL!
Marquez is getting beaten up now. HUGE round for Lopez. And yes, Lopez is a dirty sumbitch.
Lopez 10-9
Marquez 67-65, but this fight is CLEARLY going the other way now

Marquez landed a few good counters, but Lopez was just opening up on him the whole round.

I don’t think this is filthy. This is…height. Great and entertaining round, not sure how Marquez is standing, and I hope Weeks, who I normally respect, doesn’t fuck this all up.
Lopez-Marquez R8

Both land inside, Lopez seems to just be punching harder now, and for sure. Lopez just landing some brutally hard shots now, and Marquez will not go down. Or stop punching back. Marquez just keeps coming. Left down the pipe by Lopez. Marquez digging in close, but Lopez lands a better punch. Lopez is hurting him. Marquez isn’t on good legs anymore. What a gut-check of a fight this is. Everything we expected.
Lopez has actually slowed a bit this round. Rights by Marquez. aAND HERE THEY GO AGAIN! MARQUEZ LANDING THE LEFT HOOK! Lopez still hanging right there and firing, and Marquez won’t back down! My GOD! LOPEZ GETS STAGGERED! Lopez is dog tired, and so is Marquez. Marquez closing the round hot! Lopez lands a couple shots.
Good Lord. What a brawl.

I think you could hit Marquez with a sledgehammer and the sumbitch wouldn’t go down.

10-9 Lopez, 76-75 Marquez
Lopez might need a stake, because I’m not sure a punch is gonna do it against Marquez.

I don't think there is much doubt Lopez wins this fight
but I really don’t want to see Marquez stopped.

JuanMa’s come on strong the last 3 round but Marquez does not quit for a second. Hell of a fight, delivering everything i expected and wanted.
Thing is
Marquez does not belong at this weight and has hit Lopez with everything he wanted to. Caballero or Gamboa will beat the shit out of this commercial creation.

Disappointing end to a great fight, but I wouldn’t want Marquez out there with one arm, given the punches he was taking with two arms.
