Good stuff

I don't take personal insults well. My wires are such so that when it happens, i'm not going to put on head gear, lace up the gloves and put in the mouthpiece. I'm going to drop the gloves and just let the adrenaline take off.

For me, Escalante/Roman as the best action fight...

but Segura/Calderon was the best live fight because of its significance and the changing in the ebb and flow of the fight which made you jump out of your seat.

Still searching for an alive Dan Tucker.

Round 4

was a sad thing if you like Calderon. Segura won it that round, imo. The rest was dressing.

I have to go back and rewatch a few

But I’m currently split between Soto-Antillon, Nashiro-Cazares and Estrada-Rivero. I have the last one on my computer somewhere, if I can figure out how to decode it. I’ll also rewatch Froch-Kessler, which at the time I thought was good but not great, but has gotten better looking in retrospect for me.

Brick

First of all, thanks so much for compiling these video all together in one convenient location. Also, is it possible for the fights that have it to link to the RBR threads? It is always great to get the BLH commentary alongside the traditional commentary ringside.

Damn good fight

I hadn’t even heard of this one before. Great find. Carrasco reminds me a bit of an orthodox Juan Urango.

But what the heck was that in round 6?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a brawl between the corners break out in the middle of the fight before like that. At least they were able to finish it.

The camera angle was unrevealing, but it appeared that one of Carrasco’s cornermen was infuriated by the KD by Bonnani (which appeared perfectly legit to me, maybe I missed something crucial), came through the ropes and tackled the kid, sparking mayhem. Weird, not sure exactly what I saw.

I'm probably going to do a post on the 'closet classics' of the year

e.g., top 10 fights that weren’t on major US TV and didn’t involve a title. It really seems like there were a lot of them this year.

You could argue that more came to light this year due to the lack of good mainstream fights. We only got a handful of quality title fights this year.
