Wladimir Klitschko Pulls Out of Fight With Dereck Chisora, David Haye Back in the Picture
Sky Sports reports this evening that world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko has withdrawn from Saturday's defense against Dereck Chisora with an injury.
Klitschko (55-3, 49 KO) was to face Chisora (14-0, 9 KO) in Germany. The fight was also going to be the "special attraction" headliner of Frank Warren's second "Magnificent Seven" UK pay-per-view.
Shelley Finkel, an adviser to Klitschko, says that the injury isn't serious, but was enough to pull out of the bout:
"Wladimir has withdrawn from the fight, that is correct. He has torn a muscle in his back," he said. "It is not too serious though. He should be able to fight again within 60 days." A press release from K2 Promotions said that the injury is a torn abdominal muscle. Warren, who promotes Chisora, believes that the fight will be rescheduled for early next year. But there are also reports (BoxingScene.com) that Klitschko is now looking at David Haye again as his next opponent. With Haye in Las Vegas, Rick Reeno says that Richard Schaefer will meet with Haye and Adam Booth to discuss a deal to fight Klitschko. This is hardly a huge blow to the remaining 2010 schedule, as there were very few who believed Chisora was a legitimate challenge for Klitschko, but losing a fight is never fun, and it does mean that Chisora misses a career-best payday and the biggest fight of his life, at least for now. And if the cancellation of the fight means that Klitschko-Haye actually happens, I'm sure most will take the trade.

Mohammedi is better than Lakatos anyway

Why because Boxrec says so? :)
That’s debatable.
He got KO’d in one round by a relative unknown 1 year ago.
Lakatos
may be getting old but he had experience and has fought some good names.
I’d say their about even.
I've seen plenty of both of them
And in my opinion, Mohammedi is better. Shaky chin though, no doubt. But he comes to fight. I expect an exciting fight for the three or four rounds before he gets knocked out.
Lakatos wasn’t that great back in the day, and at this point I imagine he’s washed up. I can’t remember seeing him since he fought Erdei like five years ago, but he was in a few major fights in the early 00’s. He had already started to fade by the time he faced Erdei, and I can’t imagine he’s gotten better since then. Very basic fighter who might have gone rounds because he’s safety-first, but it would have been a boring blowout.

Ok,
interesting observations there.
You must watch a lot of boxing!
I hadn’t even heard of the guy to be honest………..until i checked Boxrec. :)

It will be Chisora again. Shelly Finkel can arrange meetings and Klitschko can look at Haye as much as he wants, but Haye and Booth are not looking back. They are in the WBA clown car now, and have planned a busy schedule of defending it against Ruslan Chageav, Evander Holyfield and Ollie Mcall.

What I’m looking forward to is the “NEGOTIATIONS.” It’s like, I bet this time it happens!

I dont know.... Curiosity I suppose.
To see just how long he could last, even if it was just to poke Haye into getting himself in there.
CHISORA
Dereck Chisora offered a little more than a work out for Waldimir. Worthy contenders for the Klitschko brothers in the heavyweight division these days are few and far between. Chisora is not one of them. Oliver McCall would probably KO Chisora. I look for the fight to be on for early next year.
Agree Tex. Good point re OM waxing Del Boy.
I don't take personal insults well. My wires are such so that when it happens, i'm not going to put on head gear, lace up the gloves and put in the mouthpiece. I'm going to drop the gloves and just let the adrenaline take off.
I can't believe anyone anywhere is saying with a straight face that Wlad is ducking Chisora

You'd be suprised with some people. And on the plus side,
At least Del Boy will be able to eat his Chritmas turkey without using a straw.

If Chisora and Haye aren’t up for it in a couple of months, maybe Audley Harrison can finally get a shot. Again. God knows he’s earned it, with all that hard work and dedication he’s put into his career.

I was looking forward th some payback on Chisora for wacking his girlfriend, and for biting and butting,
not to mention his kissing (ugh) of his oppoent. Guy is loony—but his humorous—I’ll give him that.
