Tonight at 9pm ET on WBCBoxing.TV, Elio Rojas (21-1, 13 KO) will defend the WBC featherweight title against Guty Espadas Jr. (45-7, 28 KO). Rojas should win fairly easily, as Espadas hasn't really fought anyone since Rocky Juarez knocked him out in two rounds way back in 2004, but it's boxing, and it's on, and it's free, and it's legal, and the WBC streams are usually pretty good.

It is nice to see the WBC fees going somewhere….
Right now if you click the link you can see a fight with the great mexican prospect 19 year old Saul Alvarez.
"Boxing is dirty," said Casamayor. " The day I’m not ready to be a dirty fighter is the day I don’t fight anymore because it will mean that I have no heart for it anymore."
For as rotten as the sanctioning bodies are
Nobody can accuse the WBC of not being ambitious. Of the four major sanctioining bodies, they’ve always been the one to remain on the cutting edge, for better (free live webcasts, pensions for disabled retired fighters) or for worse (open scoring, super titles, interim madness).

Open scoring sucks. Abregu-Gutierrez on the Valero-DeMarco undercard just became downright dull when Abregu found out he was about to win.

It wouldn't bother me so much
If the judges just told the ref what the scores were once every four rounds. That way, in a situation where someone’s hopelessly behind and just taking a beating, he has fewer misgivings about just stopping the fight.

Yeah, that's a very good suggestion.
But when the scores are being read out over a speaker system in the middle of a round, it just becomes a bit of a joke. Actually does make a lot of sense telling the ref though, to be honest.

It's a shame they picked up this one and not De Leon-Cruz though
