I really hope Clottey doesn’t have the mental break downs he is prone to having.
Does anybody know if his hands were truly injured against Lady Cheaterly, or do we just have to take his word for it. It always seemed kind of fishy to me…
Hard to tell

Arum's basically guaranteeing 1 mil PPV in the US
Then he names a list of countries. He’s a real natural on the mic.

MANNY MANNY MANNY!

hmm.
little surprised that pacman’s camp didn’t ask for clottey to come in a pound or two lighter as he’s even bigger than Cotto
they couldn't have gotten the fight then
Clottey can’t do 145. And Cotto really is not big at all.

even one pound or something. Just don’t understand why they pressured cotto but not clottey. Who is big and rugged. A handful
They just could not have made the fight with a catchweight.

I remember right from the get-go Arum said there wouldn’t be a catchweight. I think there was just no convincing Clottey to come down in weight. He might have been able to make the weight, but he has trouble with 147 sometimes with that upper body.

Struggling to make weight
Have to work harder to ‘dry your body out’ to make the weight… That’s a crap explanation
Which makes me think less than great camp

Agreed
This is quite odd, I see no reason they would have to cut weight to get to 145. Isn’t exactly a sign of a well organised camp.

I’ll stand by my prediction and preview, but let me put it this way. The weigh-in is the first time I really considered the idea that Clottey might shock the world. Like, that it could really, really happen, and not just as a thing people say could happen.

If Clottey wins, to be honest, it’s why I love boxing. No one is unbeatable. No one is infallible. If you take tough fights, you lose fights sometimes.

I'll live
If it happens because one of them lost, then it happens. If they can’t agree to fight each other, I’m glad they both taking the toughest fights they could have. If that means one or both of them loses and that fight never happens, then that’s life.

and man
If they both lost and their $100 million fight went down the shitter, there goes a bunch of people kicking their own asses for the rest of their lives whenever they look at the bank statements.

they should already be kicking their own asses. Clottey and Mosley are serious threats. Should have made the greens when they could have. Now they both have to win tough fights if that that mega-fight is to even have a chance of happening
I don’t think one fight can “save” boxing." The infrastructure needs to change, the big cards need to be better top to bottom, health care for fighters, among many other issues that have hurt/hindered the sport. A mega-fight would bring the sport to the forefront once more, but it wouldn’t stay there after that.
boxing doesn't need saving

I thought with Clottey’s size, defense and great chin, it was closer then everyone thought to begin with. If Manny’s punches don’t hurt him and Clottey throws more, the fight is his for the taking. (If he takes it and doesn’t give it away)
If Manny’s camp was less than stellar, he could be in for a long night.
on an unrelated note
I was looking over floyd’s past opponents at 147, and as long as Mosley hasn’t aged, I like his chances a little more. Depending how much you believe Oscar had in tank when he fought Floyd, it’s been years since Floyd took on a physically bigger threat
Just watched the weigh in……Manny came in under 145 3/4, Clottey at 147. They couldn’t even get mad at the stare down…they both started laughing!
