I liked Berto before this video

Now I might be developing a battle axe – Juan Diaz man-crush…..

“I turn into this beast this animal…just go in there and take his manhood, everything he stands for, everything he wants to be. I want to take his will…I want him to know when he walks out of that ring that stepped in there with Andre Berto.”

Holy crap thats awesome.

Eh I’m not gonna fault him for fighting a smart/boring fight.

I don’t know that it was “smart” really. Urango is not a tough lock to pick for a guy with speed. I think if anything he showed Urango far too much respect, or perhaps showed far too much fear of being hit. He wasn’t in there putting on a Mayweather-like master class in not getting hit, he just grabbed on a lot and didn’t want to engage. Devon Alexander had no real issues with Urango at all, and that was even at Urango’s weight.

I equate smart and cautious for Berto against Urango. Berto is not too hard to hit when he gets on the inside and starts trading, so I don’t fault him too much for holding.

He actually should have had more warnings/a point off for all that holding

It worked but it was borderline at best in terms of being within the rules. And, incidentally, it was boring as hell.

Way to misspell the titlist’s name in your co-feature, HBO.
