Mandatory Eight Count - A Sucker Born Every Minute

One opportunity lost for Paul Daley may be another found, as his sucker punch of Josh Koscheck may have been the first step in moving towards boxing. Evidently, wrestling wasn't really his strong suit anyway. (Photo by Richard Wolowicz/Getty Images)

Adamek - Mormeck in the works? | Orange Sport

Jean Marc Mormeck says that he's come to an agreement for his next bout, which would be against Tomasz Adamek, likely in October.  The fight could end up on U.S. soil, if it's not just hot air.  Polish news sources haven't picked up on it yet, so it may just be Mormeck talking big as usual.

Manny Pacquiao wins seat in Congress | ABS CBN News

Now it's all but official.  Some votes are still rolling in and thus it's not been officially announced by the government, but there aren't enough votes left to be counted for the runner up to catch him.

Paulus Moses to defend against Miguel Acosta in Namibia | Fight News

The fight will take place on May 29.  I'm not sure this is the result Don King was expecting when he paid $150,000 to win the purse bid for the bout.  Moses beat Yusuke Kobori for the title over a year ago, but Juan Manuel Marquez holds the "super" strap.  Acosta earned his shot by defeating Urbano Antillon.

Asikainen back on winning track | Helsingin Urheilu

FNR4's token Finn came back with a fourth round knockout over Argentine Dario Matorrasin.  In his previous fight, Asikainen was upset when he was knocked out by Matthew Macklin in the first round.

Montell Griffin set to retire | East Side Boxing

Griffin is hoping to earn his 50th career win on May 29th in a bout against Ross Thompson in Hammond, Indiana.  Griffin briefly held a title when he defeated Roy Jones Jr. in 1997, and he also holds a wide decision victory over James Toney.  Since then, he's fought many of the best at light heavyweight, but has generally come up short.  Here's wishing you luck in your post-boxing career.

Curt Menefee back on Showtime, Shobox to go HD | Saddo Boxing

With Nick Charles stepping down to fight cancer, Curt Menefee will join Steve Farhood and Antonio Tarver on Shobox telecasts for the rest of the year.  In addition, Showtime will start broadcasting the show in high definition.

Archie Ray Marquez arrested | KRQE

The undefeated prospect was supposed to fight on this weekend's Dzinziruk-Dawson undercard, but has pulled out after being arrested for domestic violence.  No word on what fight will take its spot on the televised undercard, but Lateef Kayode vs. Jose Luis Herrera is probably a pretty safe bet for that.

Paul Daley offered a spot in a boxing stable | ESPN UK

At UFC 113, after Paul Daley was defeated by Josh Koscheck, he sucker punched Koscheck after the final bell and has been kicked out of UFC.  For his actions, he's likely facing a long suspension in MMA as well.  According to reports, a "championship boxing stable" has offered Daley a spot to train if he wants to convert to boxing.

Good move 4 Daley

I saw the ufc ppv and saw how Daley got manhandled by Josh. AND then he got pissed off and sucker punched josh because he kept him on the ground. MMA is a sport of a mixture of skill sets. Daley is a boxer..End of story. Stick to boxing Daley please! You got a MEAN left hook Daley. Don’t let it go to waste by being out wrestled for 3 rounds.

Daley might as well go to boxing, he pressed the self destruct button on his MMA career this saturday.

I always liked Griffin

He was like the nerd who resolved to beat up the bully (Roy Jones). And he gave the bully problems in the first fight before winning by DQ….and then got demolished in the second fight.

Paulus Moses can duke!

This has been the most life-affirming thing for me, to know you're valued and then show your resolve to not just curl up and die,

I watched a couple of his fights on Youtube

And I wasn’t super impressed. Seemed solid, but pretty average, to me. Nothing jumped out as a huge weakness, but nothing jumped out as special either.

Daley...

Got outboxed by freaking Nick Thompson… he has absolutely no jab.

I mean, maybe he could turn out ok, but he would have a LONG way to go.

Come on now l;oo at the whole fight ? I hate when people bring that up that Nick Thompson out boxed Paul Daley.Yes Daley had Thompsons Jab bouncing of his face that whole fight but lets be honest its becasue Daley was so dam worried about Nick shooting in on him and taking him down. It was a smart game plan buy the Goat to make Daely think he was going to shoot in but then stick the Jab in his face.I mean just look how many times Nick did try to take it to the ground in that fight and actually did take it to the ground .

If Daley and Thompson fought eather a straight Boxing or KickBoxing match Daley would rape him. But it was MMA and the repeated takedown and take down attempts had Daley all messed up and thats why Thompson was able to use that jab so dam effectively

Daley's not a boxer

… He’s a Muay Thai stylist. The transition between MT and boxing isnt seamless by any means; Daley loses a huge part of his arsenal in boxing. Has there ever been a case of someone employing MT successfully in a boxing match? Seems like a retarded move to me, he’s way better off chasing whatever paydays he can in MMA.

I would expect nothing from Paul Daley as a pro boxer, and I don’t mean that to sound arrogant or elitist or anti-MMA. He’s just not a boxer.
