Still hasn't started quite yet
I don’t speak Polish, so I don’t know the reason for the delay. It’s already nearly midnight over there.

I'm *shocked* that Mayorga ditched on a fight at the last minute

It was DKP getting a court order to stop the fight because boxing is part of MMA so they can’t promote Mayorga outside of boxing…‘cause it’s boxing, see?

I’ll go Wlodarczyk UD and fairly wide. But I’m rooting for Frago, who looks like he’s trying out for a Sons of Anarchy extras spot tonight.

so hard to keep focus
on a fight like this after the katsidis blowout.
Diablo - Frag Rd 1
The two out in the middle of the ring. Wlodarczyk tries pumping the jab a couple times. There’s a HUGE “Diablo” chant going on in the crowd. A lot of feeling out and circling early on. Fragomeni moving forward and moving his head like a fatter, whiter, more tattooed Glen Johnson, while Diablo is circling backwards and throwing out some jabs that aren’t really close enough to land. Not much going on for about a minute, and finally Diablo throws a 1-2 combination that lands. Fragomeni comes in with a left hook that gets blocked. The crowd is really going nuts. It’s going to be hard for the judges to ignore them with as loud as they’re being.
Not much in that round for either guy. Probably a marginal Diablo round.
Wlodarczyk 10-9

Diablo-Frag Rd 2
Diablo starts by throwing a few jabs with a little more intent. Frag still stalking but not throwing too much. Frag used to do well based on his workrate, and he threw a lot of punches in the first fight, but he has little chance of winning if he doesn’t start throwing soon. He just doesn’t have klnockout power.
Diablo with a jab and Frag counters him over the top with a right hook. Fragomeni stalking, but not really throwing. Diablo keeping him at bay with the jab, but not really landing. The crowd is still going nuts despite it being a pretty tame fight so far. The announcers practically need to scream over the crowd.
DIablo with a couple of solid jabs that land, and Frag comes back with a jab of his own. Right hook by Frag gets blocked. Another slow round, but Diablo probably takes it on throwing some good jabs.
10-9 Wlodarczyk
20-18 Wlodarczyk

Diablo-Frag Rd 3
Wlodarczyk with a few jabs and FINALLY he throws a couple of digging hooks that land to the body. Frago comes forward with a few slow shots, but they all get blocked. Diablo turns Frag around and pins him against hte ropes and launches a couple of straight punches to his body.
Frag still coming forward and is being a bit more active now. Still, Diablo is able to counter him with jabs pretty regularly. Nice counter uppercut by Wlodarczyk. Frag with a few more slow hooks, but he’s telegraphing them, and they’re arm punches. At 40, he’s just looking old, and Wlodarczyk is starting to get into a rhythm. Best round so far.
10-9 Wlodarczyk
30-27 Wlodarczyk

Diablo-Frag Rd 4
Both guys back to jabbing in the middle of the ring, but Fragomeni gets the better of that one. Frago stalking, but Woldarczyk keeping him at a distance. Fragomeni throws a couple to the body, but they both get blocked. Nice left hook to the body by Frag, but there’s no mustard on it. Diablo with a series of 1-2s that land on the shoulders, and a couple more that then split Frago’s guard. Fragomeni’s punches just took slow and weak at this point. This isn’t the same guy who gave David Haye a tough fight a few years back, or even the same guy who drew with Wlodarczyk a year and a half ago.
10-9 Wlodarczyk
40-36 Wlodarczyk

Diablo-Frago Rd 5
The two decide to fight inside for a bit, and Fragomeni looks better, but Diablo is still landing the harder shots.
Damn open scoring. Scores through four are 40-36, 39-37 and 38-38.
Diablo with a big right hand that snaps Fragomeni’s head back. Fragomi aggressively coming forward behind a few punches now, but Diablo gets our of the way. Back on the inside again, and Diablo lands a couple of short hooks. Fragomeni with some nice work to the body. Fragomeni is much more active this round and at least is landing a lot more of the punches. Diablo with a series og jabs that land. Fragomeni with his hardest punch of the fight, but it misses.
I still gave the round to Diablo, but I could see it going to Fragomeni on workrate. I have no clue what fight the 38-38 judge is watching, other than that not much happened the first two rounds.
50-45 Wlodarczyk
Bad Left Hook - The SB Nation boxing blog
"Baseball is played on the field, not on a calculator."
Diablo-Frago Rd 6
The two immediately start to wrestle inside. Diablo with a couple left hooks and a series of jabs. Frago tries to flurry with some arm shots moving forward. Big left hook to the body by Diablo. Frago lands a right hook that was his best punch of the night. Frago with a series of hooks that land, and Wlodarczyk backs him off with a couple jabs. Diablo lands a big right hand, and Fragomei seems wobbled for a second. Fragomeni comes back with a vengeance and throws about 20 hooks to the head and body, a number of which land. That buzz seemed to wake Fragomeni up more than anything. Suddenly, Fragomeni’s punches seem to have a bit more behind them. Wlodarczyk with a big right hand counter hook and Fragomeni is DOWN! And the bell rings right as he gets up.
10-8 Wlodarczyk
60-53 Wlodarczyk

I sometimes hate watching a guy like Fragomeni in a fight like this. He is clearly giving it everything he has, but he just doesn’t have it. It’s not a trigger issue and he’s not being totally betrayed by his body, he’s just old. He’s got the heart and the mind still, but he’s too slow and worn out.
Bad Left Hook
"To the town of Agua Fria rode a stranger one fine day..."
Diablo-Frago Rd 7
Fragomeni seems to be back to being a bit more tentative after getting knocked down. He’s coming forward, but not moving his head as much and mostly just throwing jabs. Diablo, on the other hand, is backing up, throwing even more jabs, and landing them. A series of hooks land to Fragomeni’s body. Wlodarczyk with a few jabs. Fragomeni leans on Diablo and throws a series of hooks, but Diablo takes a step back and creates more space with a hook.
Now Wlodarczyk is letting Fragomeni lean on him, and Fragomeni is throwing 3 times as may punches as Wlodarczyk on the inside. He’s trying to work his ass off, but there’s not much on those punches. Wlodarczyk with a counter hook, and he pushes Fragomeni back, who might be buzzed again. Fragomeni back to leaning and throwing hooks to the body.
I gave this one to Fragomeni on workrate, but Wlodarczyk still landed the harder punches.
10-9 Fragomeni
69-63 Wlodarczyk

Goddamn, Fragomeni is ballsy. But he knows that’s enough.

Diablo-Frag Round 8
Right off the bad, Diablo lands a big right hand and Fragomeni is WOBBLED! Diablo pushes him back into a corner, and the TWO ARE GOING TO WAR!!! Non-stop punching here! And a flurry by Wlodarczyk puts down Fragomeni in the corner! Fragomeni gets up, but he still has a vacant look in his eyes, like to doesn’t want to go on, and the referee calls off the fight.
WLODARCZYK TKO-8
