Juanma-Gamboa should have been the damn main undercard for this fight. Surely it would’ve guaranteed more interest from NYC-area Puerto Ricans, and drawn more to the stadium
Lopez-Gamboa is an HBO main event. There’s no reason that Top Rank would not want to make two HBO paydays instead of one.

That said, since Lopez-Gamboa isn’t even in play, I DO think they should have put Lopez-Concepcion on this card.

Maybe I made this up? I can’t find it on the showbox page. I thought it was going to be on Showtime.
It’s going to be on Showtime, with a Nonito Donaire co-feature. They took it to Showtime because HBO wouldn’t pay for it as a main event. Given that they’re taking Vanes Martirosyan-Joe Greene as a co-feature, I’m sure they’d have been OK with Lopez-Concepcion, if Arum hadn’t priced that fight too high. Either way, this SHOULD have been the Yankee Stadium co-feature.

I sent an email to Sky Sports requesting them to bring over Cotto-Foreman… I just don’t understand why they bought Williams-Cintron and Berto-Quintana instead of this fight?

I understand almost nothing Sky Sports does anymore!

Yeah, JuanMa vs. Gamboa deserves its own headlining show, no question.
I like Martirosyan vs. Greene. It’s a good style matchup between two solid young prospects. I love fights like this where both guys have something to prove. Greene is a pressure southpaw, Martirosyan is a measured right-hander. Both are 24 years old and decorated amateurs who turned pro at a young age and are being moved slowly. Martirosyan is an Armenian from Glendale, while Greene is pure NYC.
Should be a good scrap.
Thanks for the word, Taco.
These things have a focus and lack of bombast that 24/7 has never had. Impressive work by an outside site.

In reference to Foreman the clip said “meteoric rise” but it sounded like “mediocre rise” which would be much more accurate!
