Looking forward to tonight
Have to work all weekend, but can take one set of fights off. This will be the one for me – will catch the others on DVR later I guess, even though I think Bradley-Abregu might be of the entertaining blowout variety.

Glad to see this on ESPN rather than on PPV
Even though I’m from across the pond, a sigh of relief came when Judah finally took some form of a challenge on free TV that people can actually watch him.
He’ll be tentative tonight, call out the big names, tell everyone he’s a light welter for good, and then stay inactive for another eight months…
I'm looking forward to tonight too.
Except for the endless nonsense on ESPN leading up to the actual fight.

Any news on Mayweather-Pac?
The “signing deadline” is almost here isn’t it? I thought they were waiting to break the news of the signing on primetime. This moment shall pass like all the others.
there's going to be a conference call at 3am EDT
Seriously. 3am EDT. So 2am my time. So I have to stay up, tired as shit, to get the “big news.”

This is a weekly routine for me...
To catch the fights on HBO, I need to stay up until stupid o’clock…
Usually I am up really late, but I’m EXTREMELY tired today as I haven’t slept much in the last week (been sick) and was really looking forward to watching the fights, maybe playing a video game for a bit, and hitting the hay at a human time. No dice. God fuck it all. The real problem isn’t staying up until 3:30 or so, it’s that I’ll then stay up until 6.

Two guys with chins who have little regard for defense. Uzelkov cares slightly more about it though, so I’m picking him to win.

Judah-Santa Cruz R1

Santa Cruz looks really, really soft up at this weight. And really awkward. Judah is moving very well because he clearly is aware he has no challenge in front of him. I know that sounds like I’m just hating on Zab, but you look at this and tell me differently. Santa Cruz looks awful physically. And I think JASC has a farmer’s tan, which is very rare in boxing.
Judah using his jab, landing to the body, again he’s moving well…I don’t know. There’s not a ton to say. They’re already worried about the heads coming together so if this turns out like the Galvan mess I’m gonna LOSE IT

Judah-Santa Cruz R2

Zab ain’t lost his speed. Not as fast as he used to be, but still extremely fast. JASC is trying and Zab isn’t throwing as much as you might like for the first couple minutes of this round. He then throws two straight four-punch combinations. Not much of it got in but the last left hand definitely poked through. Good right hook to the body by Zab hurts Santa Cruz. He made a face like that gave him gas pains.

At this point, with Dallas clearly winning and not being a bad prospect himself
Might Menefee actually try talking up Dallas a hair?
I guess at least he’s not Gus Johnson.

BTW
Second fight might be short. Ray Robinson has shown chin issues. Then again, it also might not be. Neither fighter has ever been down.

They show a slow motion instant replay
Of Lane missing 7 shots in a row.
Lane won it on aggression, but mostly because Dallas took the round off. 69-65 Dallas
Bad Left Hook - The SB Nation boxing blog

Lane 10-9
Dallas 78-75 overall though

I honestly can't see a legitimate decision for Lane
Draw at best for him, unless it’s a robbery

Lost on Nuzhnenko though

Missed a week while on vacation
But the new format definitely gives more credit to people who get more of them right as opposed to people who take risks

Porter has looked less and less impressive the further he gets along the ranks
One of the few amateurs to beat Danny Jacobs. Probably was the top American amateur for a while. And he’s still only 22.

DreD has a decent shot at upsetting DreW.
But I hope he doesn’t, because I think Ward is the better fighter all around, and I like him more personally.
But style-wise it’s a tough fight for Ward, imho. In fact, I think Ward has a tougher time with Dirrell than he will with Bute. But I think he wins against both.

Teddy says Porter 10-http://www.badlefthook.com/2010/7/16/1573706/bad-left-hook-live-boxing-results#422488449
but the other guy says 10-9 Robinson, so you’re guess is as good as mine.

He's a solid ref

And frankly, I just forgot about him.

Robinson down
Bad Left Hook - The SB Nation boxing blog

Robinson was hurt the entire rest of the round
But Porter was coming in too close and wasn’t able to get any leverage, and allowing Robinson to tie up.
10-8 Porter.

Robinson has him some serious beard.

I missed part of the fight
But I haven’t seen a round I thought Robinson won. Even where he landed more, Porter landed harder.

I saw 6 rounds
I thought Porter won all of them, and he scored a KD

win a big fight for once (i’m not counting wolak)
I’m rooting for Guerrero.

He's a fun fighter
I’d like to see him succeed, even though in reality I don’t think he’s future champion material.

Me too, I think, but not very strongly. I think he’s not really a great prospect so him being knocked off before he gets a major fight would be a plus, but he is exciting and I don’t like Smith. Go Guerrero. Does that make sense?
yeah, that's pretty much where I'm at too

I feel like most people will score that for Fernando, but I can’t ignore all that body work from Ishe. The ref isn’t calling all of them low.

Pretty clear Guerrero round. But did he exhaust himself throwing so many punches at a low connect rate?
