Because Adamek can make money fighting stiffs in Newark and the Klitschkos aren’t available. It’s happening under the guise that Grant is very tall so he’s a fitting tune-up for a Klitschko.

...and that he has a china chin.
Although, I do think Wladimir can take some sort of a punch.
Everytime I think of Micheal Grant I just cant help but think of Lennox Lewis
Man that was a whipping
And McCline flooring him with the first punch of Grant's next fight...
Lewis really made him damaged goods…
Is this the dude
That says “God bless you” to his opponents before each fight?

God forbid
that, you know, someone in this god-forsaken division actually make a good fight. Gee, I sure would hate to see Haye-Adamek. That would just be a disaster.

Unfortunatley, two other people agree with you.
Step forward, Mssrs Haye and Harrison…..
Now, Tweek, boxing is a Man sport. There is nothing in the world more Man than boxing. It is Man at his most Man. So when you spar with Ned here, just dig deep into that most Man part of you. (Uncle Jimbo, South Park: Tweek vs Craig)
honestly
between crap like Vitali – Sosnowski, Haye-Harrison (assuming that gets made), and this debacle, the division actually feels like it is in worse shape than it was a couple of years ago, which seemed impossible.

agreed
the only good fight out there coming up is Wlad-Povetkin,and I don’t even think Povetkin is ready yet and to make things worse,HBO ain’t interested in the fight but was 2 years ago when Povetkin had to pull out due to injury,Showtime (for some reason) can’t show the fight on 9/11 and it looks like it’s gonna have to be a PPV unless hopefully ESPN can pick up the fight.
I don’t even think Povetkin is ready yet
He’s 30 years old. He ain’t gettin’ any more ready.

I think he was more ready after beating Chambers...
I’ve seen no development from Povetkin since that win… Maybe under Atlas things are different, but he wasn’t as technically sound against Estrada as he was back in ’07.
He was just as ready then as he was ever going to be. If you say he’s “not ready” you’re really just saying he’s “not good enough,” which is probably the case.

yup
he might as well collect his check and his late TKO loss/UD loss at this point. It seems like we’ve been waiting forever for this fight, and it ain’t exactly worth waiting for.

Maybe they could do a deal.
Rather than actually fight, they could sit round a table, and discuss it.
“Well, I’d rather not take a stoppage defeat”
“OK, so if you give up 10% of your purse, you can have a wide decision loss instead”
“Sounds good to me. Can I have a moment in the eighth where I have Wlad backpedalling a bit?”
“No, you have to be realistic with your demands. If you’d like, we could actually have the fight?”
“No, don’t worry, actually getting in the ring means I’ll get hit. Not for me, getting hit.”
“Right, so we’re settled… there will be no fight, but we’ll put the results on both your records just as if there was one. Nice doing business with you.”
This way, Povetkin gets to go the distance with Wlad without even stepping into the ring, they both get some money, and Wlad gets another win on his record with no risk to himself.
Which, apart from the ‘getting in the ring’ thing (which is normally deemed quite important in boxing) is pretty much what happened in the Vitali/Johnson fight….

Are those pot leaves in the background
of the poster? What is up with these fight posters lately?
Mountains
I think.
Pot, preferable to mountains.

Mountains
of pot most preferable—given one has the right proclivities and connections. :)

And a lot
of time with nothing much to do.
