Ted Sares' new book Planet Boxing is available for shipping right now, and Ted has graciously offered a discount for members of Bad Left Hook. The list price for the book is $15 plus shipping, and Ted is offering the book to BLH members for just $12 plus shipping, which he says is usually about $2 within the United States.
If you're interested in ordering the book, which looks at boxing in various countries around the world, how it differs and how it all stays boxing in each of those territories, you can send payment to:

And thanks to Ted.
I’m certainly interested.
A Pete Rose by any other name would still smell of cheap hookers and pinetar.
Any chance BLH can get a sneak peak
via an excerpt or sample chapter?

I should point out that:
My editor was Don from Prov
Two guest essays were written by Goatsnake and The Welshman—both BLH posters
and a third guest essay was written by Dan Cuoco, Executive Director of the International Boxing Research Organization (IBRO).
So in a way, BLH played quite a role in this project.

Mate, it's a real honor
and I’m bloody stoked that my essay is part of your book. Can’t wait to sink my teeth into it.
"Anytime you go thirty rounds with a guy, try to kill each other, and have the utmost respect for each other, no one understands that, but guys who have been to war understand it." - Micky Ward on Arturo Gatti.
It's in the mail
The only mistake that I could find is that they have one of the chapters in the Table of Conternts fouled up with another, but thankfully the geographic flow of the book is maintained.

“the check’s in the mail”
(no, it really is!)

the book
Ted just to let you and your U.K. posters know, i had no problem purchasing your previous publications from “Amazon Books.com. U.K.” if i remember correctly we in the U.K. were just a couple of weeks behind you yanks, if this book is just half as good as the previous two then i’ll be a happy reader. good luck THE WELSHMAN.
Thanks,THE WELSHMAN.
I bought his first book off amazon.co.uk and if this one becomes available i might do the same again.
Not listed at the moment.
I don’t mean to sound like a tight arse it’s just that if i can get it on amazon.co.uk i will prob get it through quicker and they guarantee it if it is lost in post, etc. Will probably work out at least the same price as Ted’s offer because of the internatioonal delivery.
I’ll see what happens but i realise Ted is making very little money on these at such a cheap price.
Yeah, I don't really do it for the money. I tend to break even or lose on these projects. But then, I supsect very few books
on boxing make much money. The market is just too small. One guy wanted me to writesa bio on Vito Antuofermo and I asked him who would buy it besides Vito. He gave me a glazed look. I’m not sure amazon still does this in the UK, but if it does, you are better off doing it with them then doing it with me directly. Whatever is the least expensive way is the way to go.
However, my nexy book will be a departure and will be about crime (I am 50% done). I will be looking at a much bigger market with this one—hopefully.

However, I do use the loss to offset gains from other sources. So it ain't all bad.

I just put it in the mail for you, Welshman-it's on the way.
This one is diffrent than the others in that it is more historical and reserach-based, but it still has plenty of action and hopefully. some wry humor (that has to be mined a tad to find). The guset articles are really superb.

"I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me. " Hunter S Thompson.
It's different. Hard core fans should like it, however. Lots of history but not too far back so as to become boring.
Hopefully. Goat’s article is a cracking good one and very, very diffrent from any other boxing article you can imagine.

email from UK trainer and great mate, Brian Hughes. Sure hope he is right.
Hi Ted. Congratulations on your new book. I will buy a copy from Amazon. It works out easier with the post office charges. I know it is going to be a best-seller. All the very best to you and your family.
