Most aggravating fight ever

Every time Bad Chad seriously pressured Pascal (not pitty pat punches) he hurt him or won the exchange. Dawson proved in moments what a superior fighter he is and yet he failed to execute. I wanted to slap him in the face after every round.

I can’t ever remember seeing a re-match clause so poorly construed and used by a fighter. Dawson fought like it didn’t matter what he did the first twelve rounds.

He actually looked…and fought….like someone waiting for the next time !!

Pascal is not lightning fast or anything, but he’s a hell of a lot faster than anyone Dawson has fought in years. Maybe in his entire pro career. I think the speed bothered Chad clearly at first, had him a little off-balance mentally and physically. As the fight wore on and Pascal tired, Chad timed him a little better overall, and his late charge was admirable, but you guys are right — watching the fight, I just wanted to scream, “FOLLOW UP ON THAT! DON’T LET HIM OFF THE ROPES!” and things of that nature. Chad is definitely good enough to beat Pascal, but Pascal is also good enough to beat him. I was a Pascal fan well before a lot of people were (a lot of folks even flat-out dogged him for a good while), but I’ll admit his rise and improvement has surprised me, too. He went toe-to-toe with Froch in a great fight, which eliminated doubts about his toughness. But this? This really surprised me. I didn’t think he’d have the tools to handle Dawson, but he and his trainer had a phenomenal gameplan, and they really picked at Dawson’s flaws for much of the fight. They did a great job.

And Dawson…until the 11th… showed almost no determination to alter his own.

I think that was one of the flaws they picked at. Dawson’s been able to go one speed for his last three fights. I bet they wondered if he remembered HOW to go faster.

I think you are busting his balls a little much. He was in there with a guy that made him hesitant to punch. Sometimes it happens.

Could be

But I’d like to see him trying to bust his a bit more.

Haven't yet seen the fight, but I'm absolutely ecstatic for Pascal. He won a lot of respect in Britain for his fight with Froch, and I'm delighted that he's gone out and beaten a guy as well-regarded as Dawson.

I’ll obviously need to see the fight before I can comment, but I am surprised at how well Pascal seems to have executed his gameplan. I thought Dawson would be able to stick and move for much of the fight – albeit with Pascal still getting close enough to make it interesting – but this has really surprised me. Pascal-Bute has to get made now, with the Super 6 winner coming out to fight for the lineal light heavyweight title against one of the two.

he is a pro

im busting his balls because he did not catch on to the fact that his own pressure would seriously derail pascal. he did not fight like a champ

Pascal reminds me a bit of a bigger version of a young Shane Mosley in fighting style, though Mosley probably has better technique.
