Margarito applies for Texas boxing license
Antonio Margarito isn't fiddling around. After being denied a boxing license in the state of California yesterday, the 32-year-old fighter has applied in Texas, according to Barry Horn of The Dallas Morning News.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has received a faxed application from Margarito, department spokeswoman Susan Stanford said Thursday. Once the application fee is processed, it could take several days to decide if a license will be granted, she said. This seems like a formality all the way across the board, though I'm sure California will send over their documents, plus whatever they have from the decision from Superior Court in Los Angeles that came last year. It will almost surely be for naught, as it seems for all the world like the second hearing in California was just a routine stop as Top Rank prepared to go to Texas with what they'll call "a clean slate," since all states now have their own option to license Margarito if they so choose. The article also mentions that the Association of Boxing Commissions issued a statement today that they supporting Margarito's attempt to secure a license in Texas. This isn't saying that they support Margarito being licensed, but by the rules as they're laid out, it's up to Texas or any other state now. In February, the ABC issued a statement saying they felt the suspension of the fighter should stay in place. If Texas licenses Margarito as expected, he'll face Manny Pacquiao on November 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

With Rafa out .....
Mexican boxing fans will have a long wait between Alvarez in September and Julio Junior in December. Unless, of course, Texas should decide to grant Margarito his license.
I'm not sure if you're being deliberately confrontational with your posts, but it certainly comes across as such.
I’ve not wanted to say anything, and give you the benefit of the doubt, but it just seems as if you’re looking for a row by approaching a difficult topic with all the subtlety of a bull surrounded by fine china.
Might just be an idea to tone it down a little, ok?

I don't see anything wrong with it
Most on the site aren’t shy about voicing disapproval in a more confrontational tone then RGB. I don’t see why he can’t voice his opinion the other way. Especially when the tone is very much calm and actually less confrontational then the opposition.
I'm referring to more than just this post.
In fact, I’m referring to multiple posts, on multiple threads, which border on repetition and therefore seem to me to be aimed toward aggravation rather than the positing of an opinion.
I’ve very carefully avoided the Margarito thing for the past year or so, but I’m in the process of writing a piece which SC may, or may not, choose to publish. If/when that happens, you’ll see that I’m not merely picking on someone I disagree with, rather I’m worried that the way in which the views are presented will inhibit the open-mindeness with which others may view the matter.

no
Just Giving my Opinion, I Don’t Like to be Confrontational. I like to give my Opinion thats y I Don’t Even Curse. What I Meant was Good For TX if he Gets a License in my State. I Like BLH.
I wasn't having a go.
Just suggesting that maybe your style of posting can be taken wrong. I have been made aware over years of online forum posting that my own style can come across badly when I don’t take the time to consider that people cannot hear my tone of voice, as it were, online. I’m just noting that your style comes across a little the same way as I can do sometimes, a little bullish.

i apogize
Thanks, If for Pointing that Out if I am I Apologize. I Know its a Tough Subject about Margarito and Truth be Told I Hope he gets his License.
For what it's worth, I agree.
Not going to go into this too much right now, and I’d be wiling to bet that my reasons differ from yours, but I also hope that Margarito gets a license.
