I've never been a fan of Toney
But for some reason his usual demeanor leading up to a fight has won me over this time. It’s probably because of some silly Boxing>MMA belief that still swims around my head, but I’ll still root for the man on Saturday, even though I respect the hell out of Couture’s fighting career.
I sat next to him and his wife at the second Castillo/Corrales fight.
He was a great character. Totally confident in his abilities.
His wife and mother of his four children is a beautiful woman. I asked her then if she was anxious when he fought. She answered with an answer I won’t forget. She said: "No. That’s where he works and he knows what he’s doing in there’. There wasn’t a false tone or a touch of braggadocio in her delivery. Just stating the facts.
The guy is a fighter. He knows what his odds are. he also knows what he is getting paid.
This is HORRID!
I like Jimmy Toney, but this sucks……. I cannot support this MMA bullcrap at all….. I CAN’T! I hope Toney gets pinned early…. WORD!!
