Mosley-Mora to be featured in theaters
As has been the case with most of Golden Boy's recent pay per view events, Fathom Events today announced that it will feature the fight between Shane Mosley and Sergio Mora live in over 300 movie theaters. This might be a more palatable option for those who don't feel like shelling out $50 for a substandard pay-per-view card.

I was one of 7 people watching Diaz-Marquez
They should reserve theater showings for bigger cards, rather than cheapen it for FNF level stuff like this.
Every fight on that card was more significant than anything that Friday Night Fights does.

Were
you in West Springfield watching it? That’s exactly how many were at the theater where I was, in West Springfield, Mass. And that’s including the cop. but I do really enjoy the huge screen.
I wonder how it did in theaters in Texas and L.A. and places like that? Anyone go in Texas or L.A. or anywhere with a higher concentration of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans? I can see that fight doing nothing in places like that (and where I’m at), but maybe doing well in “target markets.” It did relatively well on PPV, and I have to think that’s in large part owed to the key demographic.

Think You're Right
In West.Mass., the May/Marquez fight packed the theater; the May/Mosely fight wasn’t quite as popular, but the place was better than half full; this one, 7 people, all over 60, all white.
but I read somewhere that they had done well in the Southwest, and were generally pleased with their theater numbers.
I find it annoying
that once again, there are no theaters in Manhattan.

I like this because I know like 3 other people who like boxing and they won’t pay for it. I would rather pay 15 than 50 every time

Exactly.
It was more fun with a full house, but the private screening effect wasn’t bad either, and you feel like you’re right in the ring with those screens.
It really does sound like fun and I keep promising myself I’ll miss RBR coverage here someday to hit up a theater fight, but I probably won’t. I’ve got a fight night routine now.

I saw it in a theater outside DC… as per usual, the place was practically empty for the undercard. It was maybe 1/4-1/3 full by the time the main event rolled around.
To be fair, the place was pretty packed for Mayweather/Mosley, though.
I’m not sure I give a damn about anything on this card enough to pay money for it.

Closed circuit used to be the bomb.
Now if I’m gonna’ pay, I’d rather do it on my own screen so I can yell in private.
