Lopez-Marquez being re-set for Oct. 23 or Oct. 30
Carlos González of Primera Hora reports that two dates are being discussed as replacements for the postponed September 18 bout between Juan Manuel Lopez and Rafael Marquez. October 23 and October 30 are reportedly both available, making for a short delay that everyone can be happy with.
Lopez is hopeful that they'll finalize the date soon so he can get back to training. He says he's stopped completely, but that he'll resume running on Sunday. And Marquez's hand injury has turned out to not be as significant as feared at first, apparently, which is good news.
If the fight does wind up on October 30, that sets up what is a pretty incredible potential run for good fights. Take a look at what the schedule could wind up being if that pans out:
- October 30: Juan Manuel Lopez v. Rafael Marquez
- November 6: Yonnhy Perez v. Joseph Agbeko II / Vic Darchinyan v. Abner Mares
- November 13: Manny Pacquiao v. Antonio Margarito
- November 20: Sergio Martinez v. Paul Williams II
- November 27: Juan Manuel Marquez v. Michael Katsidis
Not too shabby if everything winds up happening that way. Hell, November/December is looking like a lot of fun for fight fans no matter how it winds up laid out. It has been a frustrating and disappointing year for most boxing fans, but we just might end up closing out 2010 with a serious bang.

Great Stuff
if all or at least most of those listed fights come off.
Plenty of late FOTY potential there.
Hopefully Khan v Maidana too.
Of course if none of these come off we’ve still got Haye v Ainsley Hariott to look forward to!
Looking like Cotto-Chavez and Khan-Maidana for 12/4 and 12/11. After that boxing always goes slow for the holidays.
