Dmitry Pirog title victory presser

Since HBO didn't actually interview Pirog after his title victory over Daniel Jacobs, here's translated transcript of his Russian post-fight press conference. After reading a couple of his interviews, it's pretty clear that he's lacking for neither confidence nor words. It's pretty evident that he's a very intelligent and outgoing guy.

You would think that HBO would have had an intpreter there just in case.

I would have hoped HBO would have an interpreter so we could hear his corner too, but I’ve come not to expect things like that from them anymore.

I think it was Kevin Iole that said in one of his articles that Pirog had a fantastic interpreter at the post fight presser, so that wasn’t the issue. HBO just skipped him to let Jacobs make “I have no excuses but…” excuses.

This guy looked great last Saturday and without a doubt earned a return to HBO, especially if he fights the guys he’s rumored to be in the running for like Martinez, Pavlik, but even without those names aswell.
