Ill be watching the movie. Im not placing any expectation on the movie and just going to enjoy it for what it is

That’s the only way to watch it really. This is a Hollywood film… it’s not an indie biopic or a finearts film… it’s just Hollywood so the script will be tailored to its conventions, cliches and narrative shorthands. If you know that going in, you won’t expect too much out of it and you might be surprised.
Officially boycotting Pacquiao vs. Margarito.

I don’t do movies, but I’m seeing this one. Really love Micky Ward.

Micky will be at the Ring 4 (Boston Veteran Boxers group) annula banquet on Sunday.
I’m hoping to get some info from him re the movie. He will be presenting an award to the family of the late great Al Gavin.
In that first round when I got cut, I knew I had the best cutman in the business. I knew that, if anyone could stop the bleeding, Al could. And I was right; Al kept me in the fight. Al Gavin means everything to me."- Mickey Ward, after the first of his three memorable bouts against Arturo Gatti.

Was looking forward to this, but it actually looks silly. It’s probably a film that non-boxing fans will get more out of than boxing fans. Ah well, anything with Amy Adams is worth the time… yes, including Enchanted!

Trailer gave me chills all the same.
Even though they’re filtering it as the same silly narrative, anyone who has seen a David O. Russell movie (Three Kings, Flirting with Disaster, even I Heart Huckabees although it didn’t fully come off) knows it’s not going to be Rocky VII. I’m game.
haters gonna hate. it’s a boxing movie. been awhile since we had a good one. it has christian bale who can act like a mofo….what more you guys want? wahlberg’s actually been training supposedly for over 2 years or something to that effect preparing for this role before he even knew if it would get made, b/c it’s a pet project to him.

Can't say the preview makes it look that great
That said, I’ll probably see it because I like David O. Russell (other than I Heart Huckabees) and Micky Ward.

I went down to Lowell for the auditions, but didn't make it. Pissed me off becaus eit wa along ride.
They needed bodies to fill the “stands,” and by the time I got there, they were filled. Could a been a star.

Have to give this one a chance.
It’s Micky Ward.
I'll go see it
but no Gatti in the trailer? pfffffft
I think the movie focuses on the early part of his career, so sadly there is no Gatti in this one. That’s probably where they messed up right there. Is your name in reference to The Simpsons where Homer becomes a boxer?

Well, BM, there was plenty off drama in Mickey's early life and before he fought Louie Veader the first

I think it looks awesome
definitely seeing it when out
