Hopkins vs Dawson: Fight Time, TV Schedule, and Odds
Here are the quick details for tonight's Hopkins vs Dawson pay-per-view from HBO:
Fight time: 9:00 p.m. EDT
Location: Staples Center - Los Angeles, CA
TV channel: HBO Pay-Per-View (United States), BoxNation (United Kingdom)
Undercard: Jorge Linares vs Antonio DeMarco (12 Rounds, Lightweights), Kendall Holt vs Danny Garcia (12 Rounds, Junior Welterweights), Paulie Malignaggi vs Orlando Lora (10 Rounds, Welterweights)
Odds: Dawson is a mild favorite with odds around -145, and Hopkins at +125 or so on most books. One book (Bodog) has Dawson at -125 and Hopkins at -105.
The pay-per-view undercard is strong if not tremendous, with a vacant title fight at lightweight (Linares vs DeMarco) being the main attraction. The Malignaggi fight is in place mostly because Malignaggi does have a strong fanbase, and if a few of his fans buy the show to see him, that helps everyone. Holt vs Garcia is a nice fight -- Kendall is one of the sport's most unpredictable and inconsistent, but a top guy when he's locked in, and this is a "prove it" fight for Garcia, a prospect with potential not fully agreed upon by all observers.
Bad Left Hook will have live, round-by-round coverage of the entire card tonight, so make sure you're here.

I’m getting about as excited as an old man can.
Speaking of which, I hope your three-day, road trip/bachelor party/Bacchanalia is going well.
I’m looking forward to Cleverly and Degale. The Hopkins-Dawson undercard looks OK too, except for (and I’m sorry to say this, because I’m Brooklyn born-and-bred) the Malignaggi fight.
Not many may agree but i’m gonna say that i think the main event will be more entertaining than expected. If one of them gets frustrated or behind on points, he’s likely to start taking more risks and opening up.
Saying that, it’s more likely we get the chess match. It’s a good card overall though i’m not sure i would be willing to pay PPV money for it if i lived in the States.
Critics keep mentioning Bernard’s age, naturally, but i thought he looked close to as good as ever in his last fight and he continues to impress and surprise people, to say the least.
Conversely Dawson has never really impressed me all that much. Hejust doesn’t seem to have that real fighter’s heart.
I just have to go with Bernard. 116-112, or possibly a bit closer at 115-113.
i agree
i’m more excited for Dawson/Hopkins than the Mayweather/Ortiz, just cause I know it will be a true battle.
