Hernan "Tyson" Marquez vs Luis Concepcion II: Full Fight Video

Here's the full, one-round video from Saturday night's fight between Hernan "Tyson" Marquez and Luis Concepcion. It was a hyped rematch between guys who put on a Fight of the Year contender on April 2 in Panama. This one took place in Hermosillo, Mexico. Video is courtesy Zanfer Promotions:

It's still almost strange to me that Marquez has solidified himself as one of the top flyweights in the world. Most of us got our introduction to him with the Donaire fight in July 2010, which saw him coming off of a loss to Richie Mepranum. In the Donaire fight, he was dominated, he was toyed with, and he was a stay-busy opponent. But he also did show guts, and he reminded me in that regard of Rodrigo Guerrero, the poor kid who was served up on a silver platter to Vic Darchinyan in March 2010. Guerrero took 12 rounds of a beating, Marquez was stopped in eight.

Now here we are, and Marquez holds the WBA title at 112 pounds, while Guerrero just picked up the IBF belt at 115. Go figure.

Impressive performance from Marquez.
Really not trying to take away from his win but i have to think that war of a first fight between the two could have taken a lot out of Concepcion.
Marquez looked very good here though.

Those were some pretty knockdowns.

It is wild that Marquez is probably the best 112 pounder out there now. If you would of told me that after his fight with Donaire I would of laughed in your face. The guy can bomb though.

And how great was that crowd? They made that short fight even better.

Came off very well on TV. The first knockdown with all the people jumping to their feet was really something.

Yeah that was awesome.

I love crowds like that. Have been a part of a amazing crowd one time when Monty Meza Clay KO’ed Eric Aiken on FNF. It is something that is totally awesome.

Nica

Man does he ever drop the right hand whenever he gets ready to throw it. There was moment where he got into a terrible pattern of jab, jab, and weird uppercut thing. Something just didn’t look right with Nica and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came out with some excuse in the next couple days.

Marquez was injured BTW

Forgot to mention that he had a busted eardrum, an injured wrist and his trainer was not there… talk about having balls of steel and willingness to fight.

Why are we paying attention to the Heavyweights if little guys can KO and make thrilling fights? first fight should be a strong candidate (and so far the only good choice) for FOTY

Amazing, short, electric fight, and amazing that those things are true of Marquez and he still won in that fashion.

I never pay attention to heavyweights anymore unless it’s a Klitschko and the only game in town. FAT FAT FAT FAT vs either K. That’s the HW div.
