When HBO puts together these Face Off promos, a lot of things can happen. You can get the hilarity of Bernard Hopkins throwing one of his patented, calculated fits, the cold stare of Wladimir Klitschko drowning every bit of David Haye noise, or a couple of fellas sitting around and talking about boxing while Max Kellerman tries to push things into an argument.
When it was recorded, word was that the Face Off video for the December 3 rematch between Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito was intense. And, well, it is. If you missed it last night after the Pacquiao vs Marquez card, here's the full video:
Margarito: "There's nothing there. What do you want to do? Back out of the fight? There's nothing. It's clean."
Cotto: "The only thing is, I've taken my defeat like a man."
Margarito: "You have to take it because I defeated you fair and square."
Margarito has embraced this villain role down to the point he's mixing a Super Evil Goatee with a Justin Bieber haircut. He wants people to hate him.
I'll openly admit two things: (1) I'm looking forward to this fight, and (2) it feels dirty.
