Chavez vs Manfredo: Official Fight Poster
Here's the official Top Rank poster for Saturday night's event in Houston, with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr defending the WBC middleweight title against Peter Manfredo Jr in the main event.
The HBO poster is such a waste I'm not even bothering. 2/3 of the poster is a Cotto-Margarito 24/7 graphic, and the guys actually fighting on Saturday are down at the bottom, sort of as a reminder that there's also live boxing Saturday on HBO. This might not be the biggest fight ever, but it deserves more than that from the network.

We'll have more on Chavez vs Manfredo on Friday, leading up to our round-by-round live coverage on Saturday night, which will begin at 10:30 EST. Here's hoping the live fight is first, and the Pacquiao vs Marquez replay goes second, but don't count on it. Don't forget also that Cotto vs Margarito 24/7 debuts at 10 p.m., before the fight.

This is the wimpiest looking poster I have seen in a while and not because of the art, but because the two fighters look like two high school kids trying to look tough on their yearbook pictures. What’s up with Chavez Jr. always looking like a bum? The kid is not bad looking. If he fixed himself up, he could look decent. And Manfredo, well, it’s not his fault, he just looks like a fat little kid trying to pose and “be cool”.
BTW, I’m only making fun of how they look in the poster. I still realize they will go into the ring and hit each other which is something I would never do.
Bob Arum would promote Lucifer himself if he could put asses in the seats.
I like it, very simple and ‘old school’ looking.
No need for all the flames and post-apocalyptic nonsense thats on most.
