Krzysztof Wlodarczyk vs Danny Green: Fight Poster
Here's the official fight poster for the WBC cruiserweight title bout between Poland's Krzysztof Wlodarczyk and Australia's Danny Green, which takes place very early tomorrow morning on American time, with the full card starting at 3:30 a.m. EST.
Wlodarczyk (45-2-1, 32 KO) was likely lured to Australia to face Green (31-4, 27 KO) for the same reason that all of Green's recent opponents, such as Roy Jones Jr and Antonio Tarver, were: Money. One thing you have to give Green is that to fight at home in Oz, he sure as hell pays his opponents well. There's definitely reward with the risk.
Also on the card will be long-running WBA featherweight titlist Chris John (45-0-2, 22 KO), taking one of his usual fights against a non-contender. John will face 35-year-old Ukrainian Stanislav Merdov (32-7, 24 KO). Merdov has never beaten anyone of note.
Plus, Will Tomlinson (17-0-1, 12 KO) will face Mexico's Alan Herrera (26-3, 17 KO) in a super featherweight bout, and Daud Yordan (27-2, 21 KO) faces Frankie Archuleta (27-8-1, 14 KO) at 126 pounds, which is apparently for the vacant IBO Asia Pacific title, which would kind of make sense of Archuleta wasn't from New Mexico and had ever fought outside of the United States, but he hasn't, so it doesn't.
Once again: Bad Left Hook will try to have round-by-round coverage of this show tonight. No, I'm not certain why, I just like middle of the night cards. So if you're an Aussie, or just a night owl, check back later. No guarantees, though.

I’m strangely fascinated by the main event even though I have zero doubt of the outcome. The undercard is like a very good FNF show. I can’t hate.
? Friday Night Fights has a lot of main events way better than anything on this show, including the main event.

You know, after further reflection, I don’t know what I was thinking with Archuleta. For some reason I had him pictured in my mind as a better fighter up until I reviewed his boxrec and realized that he really hasn’t been passable as an opponent for like, a few years. So its not that great a card. At least it will be short and we’ll hear people talk about Danny Green being all heroic and whatnot instead of being honest as to how shot he is.

Yeah, Archuleta used to be fun, but the last few times I’ve seen him he looks like a guy who really doesn’t want to be in there, which is my least favorite thing to watch in boxing. I’d rather watch a guy who just flat-out stinks and has no skill swinging for the fences than a guy who’s lost all his spirit.

Scott - do you have a stream that you can share?
Thanks in advance!
Alright, looks like we’ll definitely be here around 3 a.m. EST for live coverage of this one. Why? Because. Shit yeah.

Or maybe it’s around 5 a.m., since my dude says the Polsat broadcast doesn’t start until then. But anyway we’ll be here.

That’s the Aussie poster — nobody in Oz ever streams boxing, so we’re relying on the Polsat airing. If Polsat starts a little later (meaning they miss most of an undercard nobody there cares about) it’s what we’re working with.

I would say that you’re luck for living in Hawaii for other reasons that do not involve being able to watch a Danny Green fight at a decent time.

alright, I can't make it
I got my sleep schedule too “fixed” to sit up for this one. Good luck to all those who do. I’ll catch the fights tomorrow and we’ll have a recap and all that.
