Ricky Hatton Not Interested in Katsidis' Invitation
Fear not, anyone with a heart or brain: Ricky Hatton says he's got no interest in a possible comeback fight with Michael Katsidis. From Harry Pratt at RingTV.com:
"It is wonderful that Michael Katsidis would want to fight Ricky but we can tell him and everyone else that it will be not happening at any time. Ricky has retired as a fighter, permanently, and there's no suggestion he will be climbing back into the ring again," [Hatton Promotions representative Paul] Speak said Thursday.
There wasn't really any actual speculation, but yesterday Katsidis said he was interested in making a fight with Hatton happen after facing Ricky Burns on Saturday in London.
Hatton (45-2, 32 KO) hasn't fought since his May 2009 loss to Manny Pacquiao, a brutal second round knockout, and he officially retired earlier this year, which was long overdue and expected, but hadn't been announced publicly. The British star, now 33, will soon make his debut as a pro trainer.
