Harold Lederman, HBO's Boxing Judge and Analyst, Battling Prostate Cancer
In sad news, HBO boxing judge and television analyst Harold Lederman is battling prostate cancer, Michael Marley of Examiner.com reports:
"I went for my regular checkup with my doctor on my 71st birthday," Lederman explained. "And I took a PSA test which flagged me for the prostate cancer. I'm not complaining and I'm not trying to hide it.
"I'm going to just keep fighting on, getting all my treatments. The doctor tells me my prognosis is good, that there is a high success rate."
Mr. Lederman has been with HBO for a long time, of course, and before that was a highly-respected official judge in the sport for about 30 years. He's become a staple of the HBO broadcasts, reading off the unified rules of the Association of Boxing Commissions, and when called upon by Jim Lampley, greeting viewers with, "OK Jim!" which is routinely followed by, "Jim, I gotta tell ya something!"
Bad Left Hook sends our best wishes for a speedy and full recovery. Harold will work the Angulo vs Kirkland show in Cancun on Saturday night.

Hopefully they caught it early; even at that age, prostate cancer detected early has an extremely high survival rate.
