Live Streaming Boxing and MMA: Victor Cayo, Jenifel Vicente and Javier Fortuna in Action Today

There will be a live, streaming, free and legal boxing card presented this afternoon at 2 p.m. EST from the Dominican Republic presented by SecondsOut.com on YouTube Live. The fights will stream here:

No guarantees for quality of the card, since there aren't any on-paper competitive matchups, but here's the lineup, and you'll be familiar with at least one of the names if not a few:

Junior Welterweights, 8 Rounds
Victor Cayo (26-2, 18 KO) vs Nelson Sanchez (3-2, 3 KO)

Featherweights, 6 Rounds
Jenifel Vicente (21-0, 14 KO) vs Lucian Gonzalez (10-6-1, 2 KO)

Featherweights, 6 Rounds
Javier Fortuna (16-0, 12 KO) vs Leopoldo Arrocha (10-16-2, 6 KO)

Junior Welterweights, 4 Rounds
Jorge Maysonet Jr (4-0, 3 KO) vs TBA

There's also some sort of MMA fight at the end, but whatever. (And that's not "whatever" to MMA. I'd "whatever" these boxing fights, too. Put your wigs back on.)

Those who don't care for football or just want to see some extra fights this weekend, there you go. There's some fights. You may get a total combined six rounds or so out of this, but there's some fights.

Rope-tightening, no evident hurry about it.

Blue lights now. That may mean something. Some solid rock now, ’80s-ish, ZZ-Top vintage (but not them).

I’m going to go do something else until something happens here.

Hey it’s “Dream On,” the Steve Forbes vs Oscar De La Hoya theme song.

I’m glad I could answer that before I go get drunk at my in-laws for dinner.

Anyway, enjoy your dinner.

Dressed in gray, bald, very ominous.

There are apparently people watching around the globe right now.

This is MMA, John McCarthy officiating.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 2:51 PM EST reply actions

It’s a boxing ring, though, so this took me by surprise.

I flip away for a second, and come back to a leprauchaun doing backflips. The hell?

Who the hell knows? I walked away to check some cooking on the stove, and saw the same thing.

Over before I finished that comment. Craggy or Claggy in the first by rear naked choke.

Middleweights. Don’t know who these guys are.

Holler if somebody boxes. I’m reading Riders of the Purple Sage because I never did in the meantime. Entertaining book, entertaining language. Never read a Western before.

You should just keep reading.

Two hours in, a load of laundry, one Chinese review lesson now going on two, and a Sunday dinner cooked alone, and still no boxing.

Just checked again. Things are between events, although of what nature I don’t know.

Some the music is pretty good, though. Another very upbeat Latin piece right now.

Thanks, I’ll keep reading the thread till boxing gloves appear—at least the stream is good, missed most of Burns-Katsidis yesterday, frustrating as hell, seemed like a real good fight. Have to hope for Youtube.

The announcer is talking to some guy who has on a white shirt and a bowtie, and thus looks suspiciously to me like a boxing ref. No promises, though.

Sounds almost like Kellerman in there too.

Arrocha is 34 years old?

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 4:35 PM EST reply actions

There’s the towel.

I waited 2 1/2 hours four what may be a total of 12 minutes of boxing.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 4:38 PM EST reply actions

I didn’t really wait, I’m just wiped out from—it’s Benny Ricardo, he’ll say absolutely any fight is great—yesterday, which was so stressful I don’t know how I breathed all the way through it—just got a new roof, which was vastly endangered by whopping oak branches hanging by a thread and two young men trying to cut them without getting themselves killed. We’re OK. But my brain is dead.

I’ve never been in a federal disaster area before, hope I never am again. The boys said Westfied was worse, no more trees for Westfield. They all look tornado-ized by the snow.

Pretty much. Free Sunday and weekday cards. On Thursday, at the Log Cabin, there’s amateur boxing—West Point vs Western New England Oympic-style Amateurs (or something like that) plus dinner, I’m going with friends. Might be fun. $45 includes the matches + dinner.

Gonzalez is doing OK, good jab, had some success at keeping Vicente off.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 4:52 PM EST reply actions

Tremendous aggression from Vicente.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 4:54 PM EST reply actions

Gonzalez not a pushover.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 4:55 PM EST reply actions

Not a bad fight, all things considered. You’re right, her footwear is fun. They keep saying 18’ is a small ring, and I’m pretty sure it’s just average

by BoxAnne on Nov 6, 2011 5:01 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, 18’ I thought was about standard.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:02 PM EST up reply actions

It’s a good fight, and Vicente has been winging some wild power shots. Gonzalez is on the losing end, but I think he’s done pretty well to make this a fight.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:03 PM EST reply actions

Agree. It is actually a fight.

never heard of it before. Maybe to avoid a tie, but still.

I wondered briefly about that too.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:06 PM EST up reply actions

I think it’s not just Gonzalez’ chin and resilience, I think he’s got some good boxing skills.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:05 PM EST reply actions

I think they said, despite his record, that he won his last 6

I missed that. Maybe he’s been improving. It sure looks that way.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:09 PM EST up reply actions

Vicente is just a bull, but he’s being giving a fight here.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:07 PM EST reply actions

Gonzalez has taken some incredible shots, too. At least they looked that way.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:08 PM EST reply actions

Win or mostly likely lose, Gonzalez is good, better than Vicente, I think.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:11 PM EST reply actions

I think so too. He’s not physically stronger though, unfortunately for him.

There is no safety in numbers, or in anything else--James Thurber, 1939

He doesn’t look like it, for sure, but he sure has a chin and stamina.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:15 PM EST up reply actions

Good round for Gonzalez. It’s his first, if he took it.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:13 PM EST reply actions

Gonzalez is tough, and really dkilled.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:14 PM EST reply actions

I think that Gonzalez knows what to do much better than Vicente does.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:16 PM EST reply actions

He’s not able to land effectively though, and that’s the game.

I think Gonzalez has landed some pretty effective shots.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:21 PM EST up reply actions

Well he did. He was good. But I’m not sure there were enough of those.

Eight rounds makes a lot more sense to me, anyway.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:22 PM EST reply actions

What a good fight.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:24 PM EST reply actions

Holy crap, look at that hair.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:25 PM EST reply actions

I think that Vicente needs to vary that “home run or nothing” approach. I can’t imagine it will get him too far.

Gonzalez looks to me like he has some real talent.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:28 PM EST reply actions

Nothing but test pattern on my screen now.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:29 PM EST reply actions

Sanchez has quite a pot and muffin top going on there.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:33 PM EST reply actions

Just looking at these two, this may be awful.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:34 PM EST reply actions

Sanchez down on a right, and that’s that. Jeez. Waiting for the official time, if they can find a clock to subdivide seconds that finely.

by DrRck on Nov 6, 2011 5:37 PM EST reply actions

Hah. Knew it. I mean look at the records. Don’t get the point of having such a fight as a main event, but at least the previous one was a good show.

…a bit smarmy, no? Vicente-Gonzalez was an awesome little war, very competitive.

by IntentionalButt on Nov 6, 2011 5:46 PM EST reply actions

Indeed! I should have expected Jenifel Vicente (21-0, 14 KO) vs Lucian Gonzalez (10-6-1, 2 KO) to be a barnburner. On paper, it looked SO GOOD.

I can be wrong. I have been before. Will be again. Glad there was a good fight on this show.
