According to a local TV station here (ABS-CBN), Pacquiao noted that his mega fight with Floyd is now 90% complete. He and his camp now are just waiting for Floyd to sign the contract, while Floyd is currently ironing-out/final-checking the negotiation..
so yeah, interested fans really have the right to be excited now..
That news was given today, 12/12/2011, while a later interview with Manny can be found here:

I think we’ll see a closer manny to the 2009 version, and we’ll see a similar Floyd as usual. However, I’ve stopped caring about main events, and look forward to a good undercard (which is usually a guarantee these days). However, the Khan Peterson undercard was almost as altrocious as the venue (a convention center with a flat floor, no stadium seating, no music to pump up the crowd, nothing to set the mood). The undercard was SO bad they took it off the air and re-aired the Cotto-Margarito fight until the last of the undercard was done and the main event was set. Pretty obnoxious. Also, DC is not a fight town, it’s a hype town. Almost a quarter of the pple there looked like they were ready to go clubbing, not ready to watch a prize fight! Pc.
