Vitali vs Haye, Wladimir vs Mormeck Could Double on March 3
Our friend Corey Erdman says today on Twitter that Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko could wind up in a double main event in Germany on March 3:
Wladimir, of course, would face Jean Marc Mormeck, while Vitali would be facing David Haye in, I assume, the main event.
If Wladimir did go on last that night, it would mean that for the first time in years, a halfway decent fight was on a Klitschko undercard. If Vitali went on last, eh -- Wladimir vs Mormeck is no better than Johnathon Banks or whatever.
But it would be quite an event if they do put it together. The Klitschkos take on the former cruiserweight champs of yore.
OK, I'm trying, but no -- I just have zero interest in Wlad vs Mormeck, took it as a relief that the fight was canceled, and am disappointed they're trying to reschedule. Who wants to see this crap?

They tried to ask Atlas about Povetkin facing a Klitschko and Atlas had a tantrum on Saturday, like it’s some absurd question that Alexander actually face one of the top guys. It was cute — for a guy who can’t shut up about how much Wladimir sucks, Teddy sure doesn’t like discussing him if AP’s name is attached.

hahah. do you remember when Teddy started talking shit abut the Klitschkos after the first Rodriguez-Wolak fight? It made no sense at all to bring up and both fighters were kind of scratching their heads.
He did it DURING, too. “CAN YOU IMAGINE IF SOMEONE FOUGHT KLITSCHKO LIKE THIS IF THEY DID HE WOULDN’T BE CHAMPION”
Then put your boy in there, Teddy.

I wish Joe Tessitore would call him out on shit like that…but he knows his place.
I mean Atlas is either insulting Povetkin or he’s crazy. Its like hes saying “If only I had a heavyweight fighter I could train to fight a Klitschko! Where oh where can I find such a fighter?”
If Tessitore dared challenge him, he’d just throw one of his fits.

I think Atlas is a straight shooter most of the time, but as much as he’s publicly criticized and picked against Wladimir, asking when Povetkin’s going to face Wlad is a necessary and legitimate question given a) Atlas already pulled the plug on their scheduled first fight and b) if I’m not mistaken Povetkin’s people are calling him “heavyweight champion of the world” because he has a belt…Good for him, Dan Rafael on the EPIX broadcast basically set the record straight on his colleague Atlas’ spin control…
Actually, second scheduled fight. Povetkin has flat ducked Wladimir twice.

After Saturday's showing, they should just chuck Chisora in with Wlad
Instead of Mormeck. I mean, Wlad has ducked Chisora once hasn’t he …….. (Yes I know that last bit was bullshit)
Twice! December 2010 and then April 2011.

How Wlad is number one I never know
JMM would flatten him….. so would Mormeck

I’ll watch.
For me, while Mormeck is a joke, so is Haye at HW. But, this is not entirely the point. I marvel that, first, European heavyweights have come to dominate the division; and, second, that brothers have done this together.
I understand that, in a time of greater competition, they may have been pushed to fight better than they have, and perhaps even lost more, and perhaps not have even held “titles” (such as they are). But these are counterfactual. The Klitschkos are still the best heavyweights of their time, and I think that they are very, very good.
Who else can they fight? I’d like to see Arreola again, if he can maintain his resurrection. Chisora is is on a downward slide; he was great on Saturday, but he’s been losing the weight battle, he’s too small, and he’s an old 27. Helenius didn’t show his occasional brilliance, so either he had a terribly timed off night, or he’s just not that good (which I suspect). Povetkin was better then he’s been recently, and I’d like to see more of him like this, but the Klitschkos to me are vastly better in boxing skills, and much stronger, than he is.
I’ll watch it because, however bad it may be, it will be a mark in the history books.
The Klitschko's could fight each other
I know if given the chance I’d throw on the gloves and punch shit out of my brother for fun (and money). It wouldn’t be a bad thing to see them fight each other a few times there aren’t many other legitimate challengers.
Roll 'Damn' Tide
Unfortunately (?) they appear to be anything but dysfunctional and will never, ever fight each other. Ever. Ever.

If nothing else, if this happens then there will be at least two awesome ring entrances on the same card. The fights…meh. Wlad v Mormeck is okay for a special attraction undercard, if the Haye fight happens.
Nobody will read this and care and why should they?

I sincerely disagree that this awful disgrace of a mismatch, for which Wladimir should frankly be ashamed, gets any better just because it goes second to last. It could open the card and it would still be a terrible fight.
