Wladimir Klitschko Says Kidney Stones Were Extremely Painful
In a move that should surprise no one, Wladimir Klitschko said that his kidney stones were a new class of pain according to a recent interview on Boxing Scene.
"I'm devastated. I suddenly had incredible pain. The worst I've ever experienced. I had perfectly prepared [for this fight] for seven weeks. Then I get knocked out [of the fight] by a small three-millimeter kidney stone. I am totally disappointed."
According to Wikipedia, usually it takes at least a 3 mm stone to require surgery. Symptoms can include nausea, fever, vomiting, and general pain. These are all symptoms that can all be a severe problem when going through a training camp. Basically having a severe pain in the area of the body where there is large concentration of nerves is not a pleasant experience. Apparently being punched in the face or even knocked out is no match for a well-placed crystal.
Unfortunately, this event only delayed the upcoming fight between Wladimir Klitschko and Jean Marc Mormeck instead of cancelling it completely. This fight is a complete mismatch and pretty much no one has any interest in watching it. Mormeck has had a grand total of three fights in the heavyweight division and his only claim to fame is that he knocked down David Haye. There are a bunch of better fights that can and should be made with dominant Wladimir. Adamek, Chisora, Arreola, Povetkin, and Fury are all better candidates just to name a few. Honestly, the only fight with the Klitschkos that should be made is a fight between the two of them. Since this will never happen they will continue to make fights against inferior competition. What do you guys think is the best possible fight that can be made right now for Wladmir Klitschko that is not with Vitali?

customization should play a role here. You get used to getting hit. Pain in the kidneys probably doesn’t belong to WKs training routine though.

Internal organ pain is agonizing, and utterly debilitating. Different nerve sensors are involved, and pain tolerance does not alter, based on what studies I have seen.
Kidney stones will incapacitate anyone.
Ouch. Admittedly, I don’t know much about this kind of disease. I deal with people who have psychosomatic issues, i.e. pain or disfunction that’s all about the mind. WK of course doesn’t look like that kind of guy to me though (and problems with the kidneys aren’t usually the thing ppl report, other than headaches, dizziness, problems with the spine etc.).

As far as the best possible fight. We know Atlas won’t let Povetkin go near him. Don’t see Fury going there yet………..Adamek is coming off a beating. Arreola is busy, but who has he beaten?
Chisora should be European champion. Helenius has serious power, and Chisora showed no fear….that’s important against Wlad. Chisora is my vote.
Honestly dunno.
Valuev (ugh), Holyfield or Chisora…..they’ve all but cleaned out the division, so I can see why they are picking on cruiserweights now.

He’s had medical issues and did undergo a number of operations (shoulder, hand). He’s constantly giving signals that he’s willing to come back for money fights as soon as his body seems ready though. I still do expect a Klitschko – Valuev -fight to happen within three years.
