The Bad Left Hook Pick'em Game: Season 5 - Week 5
Nonito Donaire vs Fernando Montiel is the feature bout of a busy boxing weekend. Along with the bantamweight showdown, we've got the rematch of last year's controversial welterweight bout between Mike Jones and Jesus Soto Karass, plus plenty of British action as well. There's also Felix Sturm vs Ronald Hearns and Jan Zaveck vs Paul Delgado.
For those that are new to the game, please make sure to check out the rules (we promise they are very simple).
An explanation of how to fill out your selections appears at the bottom of this post - please follow these instructions as it makes it easier for us to tabulate the results quickly each week.

I say donaire has gotten worse since the darchinyan fight, his foot work is not as sharp, he doesn’t move his head at all any more, he doesn’t throw lead left hook right cross combos like before b/c penalosa ruined his style (remember the jabathon vs. concepcion, he coulda stopped that guy if his dad was in his corner), plus he fights with his hands down now, a no-no which he didn’t do before and shouldn’t do with montiel. even with that, wth has montiel done, he’s basically a hyped up arthur abraham of the lower weight classes, the little turtle just huddles up and drops big bombs when his opponent is not expected. what happens if someone stays busy, works the body, takes away his strength and legs, makes him work, tests his chin, i really don’t think montiel does much of anything except pray his hail mary’s land, with that, to me, has donaire regressed so much he can no longer take on an elite fighter, or is he gonna step it up and blast montiel in the mid rounds, i feel donaire has accomplished more, and i feel donaire still has the quickness and speed to win, so i pick donaire, but it’s a difficult decision, esp. since donaire has fought sh*tty competition since darchinyan, and getting rid of his father was the worse decision. hearns is simply green, and not at sturm’s level, jones is entirely skillful, but i think karauss exposed that jones can’t adjust, can’t stick to a game plan, and karauss has a better heart than jones, karauss all the way. Holler!

Hey cylee, you only have 2 triples left as you have already used 3 (all on Bradley/Alexander). You still have plenty of doubles remaining, so please let me know which one of A, B and C, you’d like to switch. Thanks.

Is it possible to change Donaire to a single instead of a double?

Yes – changes are always possible before the fight starts. Since I just noticed this now, and you didn’t confirm the change… we’ll give you the points for the double.

"Dawson was NOT a hype job. Dude schooled Adamek, beat Tarver twice (neither competitive), beat Johnson twice (once close, once a wipeout) and even beat Harding when Harding was still good. That is not hype. Those are results. I love how people see a guy lose once and all of a sudden nothing they ever did means anything. You are dead wrong."
