Highlights (well) from the Ward-Abraham presser, courtesy The Ring. Chris Arreola is fighting off-TV on the undercard on May 14, and since this was a Goossen Tutor presser he was in attendance, and...I don't know, I can't tell. DOES he look in better shape?
I will say that I wish a lot of people in boxing would stop trying to do comedy. It's painfully clear almost every time that these are not funny men.

yeah, that was something at least
he came across pretty well, Ward, I thought. And Arreola DOES look in a bit better shape to me. His face looks a bit less rounded, for sure.

Arreola looks really really good. As for my boy, seems like the presser that he always gives. Even keeled and fairly honest but not giving away strategy or fight plans. Ward is really down to earth which is one of the main reasons I like him so much. He was completely willing to let me interview him at the Green fight but he unfortunately was taken aside by his handlers.

I don't even know why this fight has to happen
Ward wins. I take a nap. I still may have to fly out there for it, cause you know, why not.

The same reason that Ohio State-George Mason had to happen. It’s a tournament.

Dan Goossen is definitely not funny.
The biggest thing I gained in watching all of the 360 episodes from Showtime is an appreciation for Lou Dibella, as compared to all of the other promoters.
And I thought Ward did seem pretty well grounded.
His son is actually very nice and grounded. ‘Hollywood’ Dan Goossen has most def earned that nick, but his business will be in good hands once the son takes over. His son is the one that brings in the cardboard cutout of King Arthur near the one minute mark. He usually answers my questions about weight and training with a somewhat honest response, not a ‘who the fuck are you?’ response.

DiBella’s hilarious. Although he was really quite painful when he was on ESPN “debating” Joe Rogan a couple years ago. That was the shits.

From what little exposure I've had with him
DiBella seems like a nice guy and as legit as they come in this business. He has a reputation for occasionally blowing his stack, but if you stay on his good side, he’s a good guy. Definately someone I’d like to have a few drinks with.

Well he has been on the other side of boxing… he was the Head of HBO Sports programing. Started Boxing After Dark among other things…. So he shouldn’t be the classical jackass of a promoter all the time. He was on the other end of the table believe it or not.

Anyone else surprised Abraham actually going through with this fight? He just got whooped 2 times in a row and it seems pretty certain he’s gonna get beat down again.
I’m not sure I would say he is going through with the fight yet. When he shows up to the weigh-in, then I’ll be surprised. Still time to pick up a ‘training injury’ that would necessitate him leaving the tournament. I guess it really isn’t all that surprising considering he really doen’t have any other options if dropped out of the tourney. Would he fight Green for the worst possible big name fight at 168?

yea – I want to see Abe actually make it to fight time. I’m still not convinced he’s doing this.

Maybe it’s just that he had hair but he seems at least a LITTLE leaner.

yeah, I thought the hair might be part of it
but even if he never lost an ounce, he looks a lot better with hair, anyway (says the guy thats losing his….lol)

I think his face still looks fat, but the hair helps, and better still if I’m not just seeing things on the little image, his skin looks really improved and healthier. I’m not sure he looks skinnier, but he definitely looks much healthier. Can’t be a bad thing, even if his weights the same—I don’t think it went up.
