There are a lot of Floyd fans that will hold claim to Roger Mayweather being the best trainer in boxing and one of the greatest of all time. They feel that only the best trainer in the world could of produced the greatest fighter in the world today and possibly one of the greatest of all time. However, I feel that these assertions are a little uneducated. Athletic genius's--like Floyd--have the ability to grasp complicated aspects of their sport better than others and improve on them much better. This is compounded by Floyd's "out of the crib" boxing origins and his extreme work ethic/dedication. With this in mind, is Roger one of the greatest trainers in the world and has he been a huge contributing factor to Floyd's success? I know that a blank mind needs molding and Roger and Floyd Sr. did form Floyd's style and training routine. But has Roger's tutelage made Floyd as great as he is today? I mean, the only thing Roger says in that damn corner is "just box that Mother fu**er", and Floyd produces. Also, how many other champion fighters has he produced? I know he had a short stint with Rigondeaux that failed. Other than that, I cannot put my finger on any other fighters he has produced. So do you think Roger is a great trainer that has had a monumental influence in Floyd's success?
