Leonard Ellerbe Denies Split With Mayweather
Contrary to earlier reports, Leonard Ellerbe tells Fightnews.com that there is no split between he and Floyd Mayweather Jr:
"This is a bunch of bull***t! It's business as usual with Team Mayweather," Ellerbe told Fightnews.com in an exclusive statement.
Ellerbe has served as a key member of Team Mayweather for years now, including taking a spot at the table for major fight negotiations. He's been a factor in Floyd's erratic branching out from the boxing business, including promoting concerts and, you know, "Mayweather Promotions."
End of the day, I don't think anyone much cares if Leonard Ellerbe is there or not so long as Mayweather gets back in the ring. He's 34. At what point does he come back -- and he will come back -- from too long a layoff, look rusty, and take the wrong supposed tune-up? Hopefully Ellerbe is trying to talk Floyd into getting back to the thing he does best -- boxing. Otherwise, he's just one of many who work with Mayweather doing him a disservice by encouraging the inactivity.

Who cares....what does this guy REALLY do?
Floyd doesn’t need him, he NEEDS Floyd. Floyd can be just as inactive without him. Ellerbe is another in a LONG list of hanger-ons in Floyd’s, it doesn’t matter if he’s there or not. I could care less who is in Floyd’s camp.

Last July
Leonard Ellerbe, one of Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s closest advisers, denied Monday that negotiations for a super fight between Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao had ever taken place.
This week, Ellerbe denied…….

I think it would be good if Ellerbe left Mayweather… he’s just another enabler, and a big one at that, so getting rid of him can only be good news, I think.
Bob Arum would promote Lucifer himself if he could put asses in the seats.
