Dan Rafael reported fight purses for Saturday on his Twitter, so allow me to share with those of you who didn't see them.
| Fighter | Purse | Guarantee |
|---|---|---|
| Manny Pacquiao | $6M | $20M |
| Shane Mosley | $3.95M | $5M |
| Kelly Pavlik | $270K | |
| Alfonso Lopez | $40K | |
| Wilfredo Vazquez Jr | $165K | |
| Jorge Arce | $125K | |
| Mike Alvarado | $50K | |
| Ray Narh | $22.5K |
Pacquiao and Mosley's guarantees are just the downside guarantees, and with a successful pay-per-view, both will make over those numbers, which are impressive anyway. If you'd like some kind of reference point for how well Top Rank pays compared to other promoters, and this show compared to other shows, let me remind you that Ricardo Mayorga's purse to face Miguel Cotto in march was $50K -- or what Mike Alvarado is making here in the opening fight of the pay-per-view. Mayorga also lost money to sanctioning fees and the like.
If you'd like a comparison to UFC, Brock Lesnar was the highest-paid athlete there last year, clocking in at $5.3 million.
