Video: Alvarez vs Rhodes Weigh-In
Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Ryan Rhodes weighed in yesterday in Mexico, and here's some video from Canelo Promotions:
Alvarez weighed in at 153.2 pounds for the 154-pound contest, with Rhodes checking in at 152.6. Some feel Rhodes looked a bit too thin and may have trouble with Alvarez's power, including fighter Ishe Smith, who is concerned about Rhodes' thin neck:
So the weigh in pics for Rhodes and Canelo, wouldn't be surprised if Rhodes got KO'ed, got a very Small Neck.
In the 130-pound co-feature, Adrien Broner weighed 128.3, with Jason Litzau at 129.6.
"Canelo," as we mentioned earlier, has huge odds in his favor on the books, and even those of us on staff who still feel that Rhodes makes for a very good, very tough test tonight are picking Alvarez.

Ishe Smith is not my favorite boxing analyst, but does he have a point?
Neck muscles certainly helps absorb impact from punches. Whenever I watch old footage of guys like Willie Pep or Mike Tyson doing that roll around on your head exercise, I have always wondered how much neck strength actually improves your ability to take a punch- And whether it is only useful to help make your head elusive or if it actually helps you take an unexpected punch.
