HBO promo for the June 18 Boxing After Dark, with Saul "Canelo" Alvarez facing a dangerous test in Ryan Rhodes. I think the promo sells the fight exactly right.

I still like Rhodes in this one!

"Occasionally, there is a boxing match that, in its demonstration of skill, courage, intelligence, hope, seems to redeem the sport - almost. Perhaps boxing has always been a sport in crisis, a sport of crisis."

It will definitely be closer than Canelo/Hatton, that’s for sure… Rhodes is no mug.

Still searching for an alive Dan Tucker.

As someone said in an earlier thread, you would think they could have used some footage of Rhodes, preferably against Jamie Moore, to sell the fight to America more.
Seems a bit starnge to me that they didn’t bither, but then i suppose most people are just tuning into see Alvarez and don’t care much who he is fighting.

Haha

Nice comeback, Phill.

Besides

Rhodes is not as drip white as Matt Hatton.

True.

He does always look extremely pale. Perhaps it’s all the timespent in Ricky’s shadow. Rimshot!!

A large shadow, getting larger all the time

Soon, his gravity will bend light around him, like a black hole.

Yep, I’m officially sold on this fight. I actually haven’t seen Alvarez fight before and don’t really know much about him. What kind of boxing should I expect to see?

Very aggressive, confident, patient, calm, punches like a mack truck. Not real fast, not great on defense. No quit in him, great fun to watch.

Canelo wins in a FOTY, and Litzau gets the win in a boring ass fight

I hate the Texans

I think Broner has to turn it on against Litzau, and I think he’ll produce the display that people expected from him against Ponce de Leon.

Still searching for an alive Dan Tucker.

meh i don’t think he can. that was the first i’ve seen of him, and i was not impressed. hell i even think PDL got screwed out of a W, and litzau is most definitely a better boxer than PDL
