Bad Left Hook Live Results and Coverage: Anthony Dirrell vs Kevin Engel on Friday Night Fights

Stay connected for news and updates

Tonight's Friday Night Fights isn't the best, but it's on at 10 p.m. EDT, preceded at 9 p.m. EDT by a replay of Wolak vs Rodriguez from last week. Bad Left Hook will be here, because I have nothing better to do tonight, really.

In the main event, Anthony "The Dog" Dirrell (22-0, 19 KO) takes on Kevin Engel (18-4, 15 KO) in 10-round super middleweight bout. Anthony is the younger, less talented brother of Andre Dirrell. He's a good puncher, but has yet to face any serious competition, and tonight won't change that. He was originally gong to face former titlist Alejandro Berrio (picture in the banner on the right), but predictably that fell apart, and now Engel is in. Engel is an extremely limited club fighter with guts to spare, but not much talent. He tends to back down and crumble after trying to trade early with better fighters, which is what I expect tonight, and what we've seen in the past with him.

The co-feature has Joseph Elegele (12-0, 10 KO) in welterweight action against Aaron Martinez (14-1-1, 3 KO). Elegele was supposed to face Lanard Lane, but that's not happening. Lane hadn't fought in a year, and now can add some more time to that.
