Overall this is a really light weekend for boxing, and the biggest fight to most is probably the Friday Night Fights main event between Lamont Peterson and Victor Cayo.
But there's a Saturday night rematch in Mexico that might be worth going out of your way to watch. On April 16 in Boca del Rio, Jackie Nava and Ana Maria Torres waged war over 10 rounds in a fight that should appeal even to those who don't much care for women's boxing. To be 100% honest, I don't care for women's boxing. And I loved this fight. If there were more fighters in the women's game as good as these two, I'd be more interested.
Nava (24-3-3, 11 KO) and Torres (25-3-3, 15 KO) will rematch in Tuxtla Gutierrez, and the fight will be televised by Azteca. Take a look back at the first fight, because I don't think your Fight of the Year list is complete without this one.
Rounds 6-10 after the jump.
