Andre Dirrell Return Again Postponed, But Still On
According to Leon Lawson Jr, the uncle and trainer of the Dirrell brothers, in an interview with Mike Coppinger, Andre Dirrell's ring return is again being pushed back, this time to September. His opponent will still apparently be Sebastian Demers, but Team Dirrell is already looking forward.
"I know he wants to fight [Lucian] Bute, I heard him speaking on that," Lawson Jr. told BoxingScene.com. "[Mikkel] Kessler would be great to fight and then eventually, of course [Andre] Ward."
Dirrell is coming back, eventually. So that's the good news for those interested in his return. The date was first reported to be August 5, then August 19, and now apparently, September. But it's happening. I know some are excited and some couldn't much care less, and some to be perfectly honest still feel he was never really as injured as they said he was, but however you see it, he's coming back. His talent is obvious, so in that regard he's a true addition to the division. But there are open questions about other things.
Lawson also predicts that Andre and Anthony Dirrell will reign atop the super middleweight division like the Klitschko brothers at heavyweight. How do you feel about that? Any chance?

Of the two, I like Anthony. He brings heat.

I have serious doubts about Dirrell's ability to make 168
He looked pretty skeletal before the break. I know he runs A LOT, but at this point, making the weight will probably take his legs.
dirrell will NEVER fight andre ward
i dont know why they even brought him up
ill always believe he was hurt as he seemed because of his “i lost man..” answer to jim gray

Grazing blow...Dirrell is EXTREMELY overrated, faked being hurt to avoid the Ward fight
I lost a lot of respect for him after pulling that. He’s always seemed soft for a fighter.
"That was very funny about the old man basketball skills. One is lucky to escape injury when playing against those crafty, crusty sumbitches. And it’s just demoralizing when they demonstrate yet again how to use the backboard from range." - Charlie Custer
