Video: Ola Afolabi's Knockout of Terry Dunstan

The highlight of this past Saturday's Wladimir Klitschko vs David Haye card wasn't seen on U.S. TV, but those who found a way to watch the undercard festivities did get to see this nasty knockout featuring cruiserweight contender Ola Afolabi and 42-year-old veteran Terry Dunstan. It might well be the Knockout of the Year so far, and will at the least be a strong contender by the end of the year. Take a look at the full fight (it's just one round):

The right hand there is just awesome -- I mean there are a lot of words you could use to describe it, but "awesome" fits for me. It's basically a video game knockout but it really happened. You just don't see pure, clean knockouts like this often, particularly with the gum shield flying and the drama that adds, and the way Afolabi then cocks his right hand back after it lands is pure EA Sports stuff.

Awesome KO.

I haven’t read that piece posted about ringside phsicians yet and maybe I’ll change my mind about this next statement but it really bothers me how many people come to a fighters aid after he gets KO’d. I’m not saying he should just be left there to struggle or flop around but really how many people are needed in this situation? The refs get way too involved. If he calls the fight right away, and waves a doctor over then the ref should excuse himself from giving the fighter anymore attention from that point on and let medical personel take over. It always seems like there are anywhere from five to ten people in on the post-KO action doing who knows what. I just can’t imagine that each person in these situations is actually making things better in there. I’d guess the opposite actually; that more people in on these situations just complicates things.

I think some of them are paramedics. And there’s the thing of maybe having to semi-lift the guy to his stool. But you’re right, it can really turn into a small riot in there sometime. I kind of forgive the refs, tho, they surely are just anxious for the guy they’ve been charged with protecting from harm.

Wish Wlad would have done this to Haye…..Awesome K.O.for Afolabi; nice work dude.

Have you ever stopped to think that the person you are chatting with online is a perfectly normal human being, and that YOU are raving psycopath?

i’ve always kind of liked Afolabi, don’t see much of him. Great KO.
