Here's a quick Showtime Sports news brief with Al Bernstein from the final press conference for Saturday's fight between Brandon Rios and Urbano Antillon:
I really do like the contrast here. In terms of fighting style, the two aren't very far apart at all -- both rugged, come-forward brawlers with a lot of guts. But they're clearly different people. Whether it's part of his own self-hype or whatever, Brandon Rios is going with an angry, determined, personal vendetta sort of stance for this fight, while Antillon is content to focus entirely on the fight and basically ignore Rios' attempts to lure him into shouting or shoving matches. It's always kind of funny to me when mad dogs are met by guys like Antillon here, who just stay cool and laid back.
But it is what it is. Rios has said he likes to amp himself up however he can before a fight because it makes him work that much harder, and so far it's worked for him. Antillon apparently just doesn't need to do that and isn't letting himself fall into Rios' mental trap here.
