Here's the official fight poster for Juan Manuel Lopez's October 1 return to the ring, part of a nice triple-header in Puerto Rico.
Lopez (30-1, 27 KO) is coming back from his first career loss, in April to Orlando Salido, against Mike Oliver (25-2, 8 KO). Oliver, as others have noted, is a skilled fighter. BLH feature writer emeritus and boxing historian Ted Sares recently said that Oliver has the fastest hands he's ever seen. His only problem has been a shaky chin. Against Lopez, that's not great news, but it's not a bad bounce-back fight either.
Also on the card, former super featherweight titlist Roman "Rocky" Martinez (24-1-1, 15 KO) finally returns to the ring after his own first career loss, which came in September 2010 to Ricky Burns. Martinez will face Mexico's untested Ramon Maas (25-1, 15 KO).
Rounding out the bill is a WBO super bantamweight eliminator between Jonathan Oquendo (21-2, 14 KO) and Sod Kokietgym (51-2-1, 21 KO). I've heard that Integrated Sports will be putting the show on PPV in the United States, so it will be one of three options that night. HBO has a middleweight double-header (Sergio Martinez vs Darren Barker, Andy Lee vs Brian Vera II), and Top Rank Live has a great matchup at super bantamweight between Toshiaki Nishioka and former lineal champ Rafael Marquez on FSN.
