HBO Sports updated their greatest hits packages for the September 17 fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Victor Ortiz. Here's the Ortiz video:
I have this feeling like there's a not-so-distant time ago when they'd be trying to gloss over the Ortiz vs Marcos Maidana fight more than this, but make no mistake, they do gloss over the story somewhat. The story that night was that Ortiz quit in the sixth round despite the fact that he had been neck-and-neck with Maidana in what was, truly, a great fight. HBO also has the time to include the post-fight interview here, but they didn't. I don't know why, really. It just makes his story all the more intriguing, in my opinion, that he's come back from that moment of doubt about himself and his career to have earned a place across the ring from Floyd Mayweather Jr, but maybe that's just me.
It's got a good ending with the Berto win, but the Jeff Resto and Antonio Diaz fights weren't much to get excited about, and all the Resto clips do for me are server as a reminder of the pathetic and atrocious Oscar de la Hoya vs Manny Pacquiao undercard. I can say this: We've come a long way back up from that disgrace as far as PPV undercards go.
