HBO Sports updated their greatest hits packages for the September 17 fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Victor Ortiz. Here's the Mayweather video:
The new lineup: Angel Manfredy (1998), Arturo Gatti (2005), Oscar de la Hoya (2007), Ricky Hatton (2007), Juan Manuel Marquez (2009), and Shane Mosley (2010).
I don't know why they don't feature the two Jose Luis Castillo fights more often. It could help plant the seed that Mayweather is, indeed, beatable, if someone has the right game plan and preparation. One of the sales pitches for all Mayweather fights is the chance that the other guy has to be The One, no matter how much they have to lie or exaggerate to paint said opponent as The One. Castillo damn near was The One, nine years ago. Nobody -- except Oscar in the first half of the fight -- has been able to make Floyd truly uncomfortable since, not for more than a round or three.
Update: My question was answered via Twitter:
@badlefthook Thanks for posting. Big fan of the site. FWIW, I wanted to include the Castillo fights but Top Rank wouldn't give permission.
So now we know.
