Mayweather vs Ortiz 24/7: Full First Episode (Video)
We are just four days away from the big fight on Saturday night between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Victor Ortiz, live on HBO pay-per-view, and the full hype rush is about to set in here at Bad Left Hook.
If you've missed out on the 24/7 series dedicated to the fight, we've got you covered with Anthony Wilson's excellent recaps of episode one, two, and three, and now thanks to HBO, we have video of the instantly infamous first episode:
I will say that promotion-wise, while I haven't personally noticed anything terribly different from past HBO events, they've definitely done a better job this time around of getting things online and available to everyone. Boxing, as I've mentioned before, lags far behind many sports in terms of internet presence, most notably their competitor/non-competitor/friend/enemy/frenemy, mixed martial arts, which has long since used the internet to spread the word about their sport, particularly UFC. So it's good to see boxing, its promoters, and its networks starting to realize how valuable and easy doing some online promotion can be.

Baby steps is what I keep telling my self with the progress of the boxing business/promo model. I get that may/Pac do close to 100mil in a night. But take away hbo/showtime and lots of guys would be in the 10,000 dollar range. I want boxing to do well cause I want the best athletes to thank about one of my favourite sports.
He knows the guy with the bandage on his ass is going no were. Were you going fucking no were
