Bad Left Hook Radio for Sept. 13, 2011: Mayweather vs Ortiz Promotion and Chad Dawson
Today's special, short and sweet edition of Bad Left Hook Radio is just the first in a series of podcasts I'll be doing this week on the Mayweather vs Ortiz card. Today's edition focuses on the promotion of the fight, and how the promised big events from HBO and Time Warner may or may not have really panned out or become anything significant, including TV spots on Conan O'Brien's show with Mayweather, and Piers Morgan's show with Ortiz and Oscar de la Hoya.
Also, a few thoughts on Chad Dawson's bizarre decision to part ways with Emanuel Steward just a month before the biggest fight of his professional career, and what this could mean for Dawson not just going into the fight with light heavyweight world champion Bernard Hopkins, but what it could mean for the rest of his career.
We'll have another couple of shows coming your way this week, starting tomorrow with a look at the Mayweather vs Ortiz undercard featuring Erik Morales and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Great Show SC….
outside of the whole Mayweather/Ortiz thing…
I get the fact that Dawson will always be a guy who cruises in boxing. I mean a month before the fight and you are just starting to get really into camp? I know he had a kid and whatnot but he isn’t the first nor the last fighter to do that. He also has to understand that at some point HBO and Showtime aren’t going to peg him as a star if he doesn’t win. No more million dollar paydays with drawing flies and fighting a boring fights. Heck… HBO might be curtailing the type of paydays he used to get with new management and the new show that they are going to put out now.
"Boxing is dirty," said Casamayor. " The day I’m not ready to be a dirty fighter is the day I don’t fight anymore because it will mean that I have no heart for it anymore."
